In September 1984, Iron Maiden released Powerslave, their fifth studio album. It contained hit songs like 2 Minutess 2 Midnight and Aces High. The cover art for the album featured an Egyptian theme, with Eddie as the centerpiece of a massive monument. The theme was carried over to the subsequent World Slavery Tour, which ran from August 1984 until July 1985. The Egyptian themed Eddie became part of the band’s set for the duration for the tour.
NECA Toys took the album cover and imagery from the world tour, and used it to create their own version of a Pharaoh Eddie. The figure is part of their 8″ scale clothed figure line. It is set to ship out to stores later this month. Our friends at NECA have sent over the figure. After the jump, you can see my thoughts and a photo gallery.
