Previews SDCC 2020 Day 7

Photos and details have been released for two more Previews San Diego Comic-Con 2020 Exclusives. Today’s announcement include The Muppets – Electric Mayhem Figure Box Set from Diamond Select Toys, and a DC Comics – the Joker Ikemen Statue by Kotobukiya. These items would originally have been available at SDCC 2020. Since the show has been cancelled this year, the item will be coming to local comic shops and online collectible retailers. Previews SDCC 2020 Day 6

Two more Previews San Diego Comic-Con 2020 Exclusives have been revealed. Today, they have shown off a Nightmare Before Christmas Lighted Figures Box set by Diamond Select Toys. The set includes a special black light in the box that allows the figures to glow. Also revealed is an Avengers: Endgame Infinity Gauntlet and Nano Gauntlet Light Up 2-Pack by Surreal Entertainment. These items would originally have been available at SDCC 2020. With that event cancelled, the collectibles will be coming to local comic shops and online collectible retailers. NBX Best Of Series 1

Diamond Select Toys has updated with news on their next Nightmare Before Christmas releases. Their line of Nightmare Before Christmas Select Action Figures is currently on Series 9 and 10. DST is bringing back some older, harder to find figures for new “Best Of” assortments. They have revealed photos and details for both Series 1 and Series 2, as well as a deluxe Oogie Boogie release. These are all due for release this Fall. Check out the details below, and photos after the jump.

As the Nightmare Before Christmas action figure line approaches its 10th series, DST is going back and re-releasing some of the line’s most popular figures for those who may have missed out! Series 1 includes Jack, the Mayor, and Lock, Shock and Barrel! Each figure or figure set comes packaged in a full-color window box with hang tag. Sculpted by Cortes Studios. It’s another series of classic characters, as DST is going back and re-releasing some of the line’s most popular figures for those who may have missed out! DST Select Black Hole 042

The Black Hole is a sci-fi action film released by Disney in 1979. In the film, the crew of the USS Palomino, including the robot V.I.N.CENT, discovers the remains of the missing USS Cygnus on the edge of a black hole. As they make contact with the lost ship, they meet Dr. Reindhardt, his faceless army, the massive robot Maximilian, and the heavily damaged robot B.O.B. The crew of the Palomino soon discovers that the faceless drones are in fact the lobotomized crew of the Cygnus, and Dr. Reindhardt plans to use these drones to investigate the black hole. As the crew of the Palomino looks to escape, a series of battles and accidents draw them all into the black hole itself, revealing strange visions and giving the crew a chance at survival. The movie itself was not a hit for Disney, though it has gained a bit of a cult following over the years.

Diamond Select Toys has a new selection of Disney action figures which have included Tron, The Rocketeer, and The Black Hole. I’ve previously shared photo galleries for both the Tron and Rocketeer figures. Today I’m taking a look at the three new figures from The Black Hole. The figures include the villainous Maximilian, and a two pack of V.I.N.CENT and B.OB. These figures are available now, and are priced at $24.99 each. DST Select Rocketeer Figure 027

The new Disney Select line of figures from Diamond Select Toys features characters from two memorable Disney films. Series 1 includes figures from The Black Hole (gallery coming soon) and The Rocketeer. Today, I’m taking a look at The Rocketeer 7″ Scale Figure. The movie was released in 1991, and follows stunt pilot Cliff Secord in 1938 Los Angles. Cliff stumbles onto a prototype jet pack, and uses it to become a masked hero, attracting the attention of Howard Hughes, the FBI, and Nazi’s, who are all after the jet pack.

Our friends at Diamond Select Toys provided the figure for review. The Rocketeer includes a masked and an unmasked portrait, swap out chest pieces, multiple interchangeable hands, jet pack effects pieces, and blueprints for the jet pack. The figure is in stores now and sells for about $28. Check out my thoughts on the figure and my photo gallery after the jump.
