It’s time, once again, to play a bit of gallery catch up. Today I’m taking a look at the MAFEX Robocop 3 Figure from Medicom Toys. They have previously released figures based on both the original Robocop, and Robocop 2. In the third film, OCP begins forcing citizens out of Old Detroit to make way for the development of Delta City. They employee a group of armed soldiers to bully residents until they leave. After the death of his partner, Officer Lewis, Robocop joins the citizen resistance and is badly damaged. With the help of one of the scientists that created him, Robocop is restored, the prohibitive fourth directive deleted, and gains a new jetpack and arm mounted canon to aid in his fight.
The film is notable for a few reasons. Peter Weller was replaced by Robert John Burke. The film was directed by Fred Dekker (Night of the Creeps, Monster Squad) and written by comic legend Frank Miller. However, Orion pictures pushed the film to be more kid friendly after the success of the animated Robocop series. this resulted in the removal of the graphic violence seen in the original two films. The film ended up being a commercial and critical disaster, which ultimately led to Robocop being relegated to TV.
Toyark sponsor Entertainment Earth provided us with the figure to review. After the jump, check out photos and a quick review.

Mattel is kicking off collector level Jurassic Park/World at the 6 inch scale with the Amber Collection. They teased them starting at SDCC 2019, and are now trickling out to retailers. Ian Malcolm is in the wild, and now Owen Grady and Velociraptor Blue are hitting. Blue is in scale with Owen as well, making it a great pair for display. Both feature a full run of articulation worthy of modern collector lines. Plastic is hearty and holds up to constant movements, hand switching and posing. Paint on Blue is fantastic, nice and matte, clean application. Owen’s paint is solid but nothing fancy. He’s using digital printing on the face – it’s an average execution, not as sharp as original prototypes. The star here in the end is Blue – it’s a great articulated Dino at the 1/12 scale. Paired with the others in non specific paint, it could make a great pack display.
We’ve run both Owen and Blue through a set of standard and fancy shots after the break courtesy of Entertainment Earth, read on to check them out!
Both are in stock at Entertainment Earth, hit them up to grab your copies!
Just over a year ago, a Figma Space Invaders Monster was revealed by Good Smile Company. While the figure has shown up a few times at conventions, we’ve not heard much news over the past few months. Thankfully, the figure is finally set for release. Good smile Compay has posted the product page. The Space Invaders Monster is based on the artwork from the sides of the classic Space Invaders arcade cabinet. The game is one of the most recognizable video games ever produced, and spawned numerous sequels, remakes, and knock offs since its release over 40 years ago.
The upcoming figure stands at 6.7″ tall. The figure is fully articulated, including the fingers. The eyes can be rotated, allowing you to reveal a glow-in-the-dark feature. An articulated figure stand is also included. The Figma Space Invaders Monster is priced at 7,500 Yen (about $68 USD). It is set for release this October. See additional details and new photos after the jump.
Time for another round of random Mythic Legions galleries! Today we are taking a look at several from the recent Wasteland wave, Purrrplor, Kronnaw and Cassia plus one from further back – Cowarross. All except Cassia are homage figures referencing characters from Masters of the Universe – a line that The Four Horsemen have been working on for years for Mattel and Super 7. Purrplor takes Panthor, Cowarross takes Battle Cat and turns them into humanoid cats Thundercats style. Kronnaw is a Trap Jaw homage using a warrior body with a skull head, in classic Trap Jaw colors.
Cassia is just a female warrior from the Mythic Legions lore that I wanted to build out small ranks of cool figures here. She comes with a fur cape that is boss and pairs well with Templar or other warriors from the line.
I’ve been grabbing random pieces from each new wave, ignoring actual backstory just to have a cool set of 1/12 scale figures repping on the shelves. The MOTU homages are what caught my eye initially but the line up has grown here without getting crazy. It’s a fun run every couple months without the need for OCD level completionist goals. For me anyway. :)
Check out our set for these four after the break! You can grab some of the next wave of figures now via pre-order over on Store-Horsemen.com.
