Throne of Eldraine Collector booster box info

With the upcoming release of Magic: The Gathering Throne of Eldraine WOTC is doing a special edition collector series Booster Box (available at your LGS only) or the second option is the single edition Throne of Eldraine Collector Booster Pack available on Amazon.com. Reports are coming in of very low allocation of these sets and prices are already spiking up. The best option for casual fans who can’t afford a full box is to grab one single booster on Amazon while supplies last.

Just in off the wire we now have official confirmation of a few new products and services Wizards of the Coast are about to unleash on the Magic: The Gathering crowd and beyond. Thanks to public information located on the TESS System we can now provide you with the following list.

  • Spellslinger
  • Manastrike
  • Planesiege

The one I find most interesting to speculate on right out of the gate is Spellslinger! Is this new potential MTG tournament software for WPN and DCI? It also looks like this is the new marketing tag line for new products Magic: The Gathering related.

Manastrike and Planesiege is anybody’s guess. WOTC has stated that future “Master Styled Sets” will be themed and these set names could match that criteria. With a big anouncement list set for Friday we may get more information on what this all means for the game of Magic: The Gathering

Magic: The Gathering Arena from a casual MTG super fans point of view.

I just want to start off by saying just how fun it has been to be a part of Magic: The Gathering Arena as a Beta Tester from very early on… I think? I feel like I am a part of MTG gaming history since I know the weight and impact Arena is about to have on the Magic: The Gathering community. For those of us who have had the opportunity to watch the game grow and get better with each version it has been a fun ride.

After having played 60 card constructed, single elimination, no side board decks, consisting of cards made up from the Ixalan Block only, you realize how intricately designed this set is and how it feels like it was built specifically to launch Arena.  Dinosaurs, Vampires, Merfolk, a really strong Control Deck, awesome new Mana.  The Power Level really shines on it’s own and looking at Dominaria (also an amazing set) things are really going to open up with the addition of Amonkhet and Hour of Devastation. I foresee a Sea of Red tonight.

So in short – Arena is a huge home run for fans of Magic: The Gathering. Basically if you have the time you will be able to play for free, and from what I can see – that is the #1 complaint among all active players. Lets face it Paper Magic can be damaging to the wallet.  The average Standard Format player wants something that’s going to win so they build their best ride or die deck. Arena will put an end to all of that. You will be able to test cards at unmatched speed, with no guess work at all on how a new card interacts. You will be able to quickly change up decks and brewing becomes fun again with far less financial risk, opening up the META. Problem cards will be identified very early on lessening the effects of any card being banned.

under Magic: The Gathering

Today is going to be one massive Magic: The Gathering information dump. After an abysmal Masters 25 set with an awful Mythic slot, it would seem WOTC has put all of it’s MTG 25th anniversary attention into Dominaria. All the news surrounding Dominaria – Saga, Mox Amber and New Legendary Frames all of this awesome lore on top of it. This set is the Magic: The Gathering 25th Anniversary set.

Look at this awesome new Buy-a-Box preorder promo card Firesong and Sunspeaker for the new format idea, Brawl – Commander using only Standard Legal cards. This is one of the best ideas I see having a lasting effect. I’m already brewing… Could this have digital implications for Arena? More on that later on tonight (as the embargo lifts) so we can review Arena and give our Beta Test Review of this awesome new system.

Just announced for players of Magic: The Gathering – Signature Spellbook: Jace! A collection of eight cards plus one random premium foil version of one of those eight cards. Each card has Jace-flavored art and special frames just for this set.

This is the first in a series of Magic: The Gathering Spell Book Sets that will feature members of the Gatewatch at first and hopefully will expand. The product will launch at $20 and looks amazing. They could have given us a better version of Jace but the set overall is a solid secondary premium product. Nice updated feel and the foils will be amazing. Also it is important to note this product replaces From The Vault sets that will be discontinued.

For fans of Magic The Gathering, there was a real treat in store – Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro revealed their upcoming MTG: Amonket series. As you can see from our included gallery images, just walked up to the presentation was a sight to be seen. The new series highlights the Five Trials of the Gods:

  • The Trial of Solidarity
  • The Trial of Knowledge
  • The Trial of Strength
  • The Trial of Ambition
  • The Trial of Zeal

Fans were able to check out starter sets featuring Liliana and Gideon, along Booster Bundles and Deck Builder’s Toolkit. Players, please note the following dates:

  • Pre-release: April 22-23, 2017
  • Draft Weekend: April 29-30, 2017
  • Magic League: May 1-28, 2017
  • Game Day: May 20-21, 2017

We were also treated to MTG: Archenemy and Aether Revolt Planeswalker Decks on hand and ready to play with!

Hasbro dropped a huge digital bomb today when they announced a new Magic: The Gathering Online Platform under the new Hasbro Digital Next. The new venture was hyped as a reimagining of All Magic Online Play, giving stunning visual interactions with upgraded watchable-shareable games.

There was no specific mention of how extensive the card database will be, but all signs point to the MTGO we have all been waiting for. Stay tuned for more information over the weekend as our team heads out to the Toy Fair 2017 Hasbro show room to bring you all the latest updates for all of Hasbro Brands!

The latest set for Magic: The Gathering has recently been released called Aether Revolt, Part 2 of the Kaladesh Block. Overall the block has been very mediocre, but with the release of Aether Revolt and the release of a few key cards, this set has shaken up the game for Standard, Modern, Vintage and even Commander with the release of Masterpiece chase cards.

It’s hard to argue that the four color Commander 2016 sets for Magic: The Gathering were a huge success for WOTC. The sets are current sold out and out of print already. The two most popular among the five sets is Breed Lethality COMMANDER: Atraxa, Praetors’ Voice, and Invent Superiority COMMANDER: Breya, Etherium Shaper that are demanding a big secondary mark-up. We have provided high res shots of key cards from these two sets.
