DC Collectibles is teaming up with artist James Groman for a new assortment of DC Artists Alley Figures. Long time toy collectors may know James from his work on toy lines such as Madballs, Barnyard Commandos, Ring Raiders and more. The new 7″ scale vinyl figures feature creature based versions of Batman and some of the most dangerous villains from his rogue’s gallery. The figures will be priced at $65 each and will be available in October 2019. See the details below and the photos after the jump.

DC Collectibles will be in attendance at DesignerCon 2018, bringing long some new and exclusive items for sale at their booth. At the event, they will be spotlighting their DC Artists Alley vinyl statue series, which allows artists to recreate their favorite characters in their own styles. An exclusive Nightwing Statue designed by HaiNaNu “Nooligan” Saulque will be on sale, as will a limited Clutter Double Cast Batman Figure, a few artist prints, and an enamel pin. Exclusive DC Artists Alley Figure from HaiNaNu “Nooligan” Saulque, Custom Prints and More Surprises in Store at DC Collectibles Booth (#1500)

DC Collectibles, DC’s in-house line of high-end collectibles, will make its DesignerCon debut, showcasing some of the company’s most cutting-edge collectibles at this year’s convention from November 16-18, 2018, in Anaheim, CA.

Taking center stage at the show is DC Collectibles’ artist-focused designer vinyl line, DC Artists Alley. DC Artists Alley is inspired by the popular “Artist Alley” convention experience and allows innovative artists to put their eccentric spin on DC’s most iconic characters. At DesignerCon, DC Collectibles will debut a DC Artists Alley convention exclusive variant of HaiNaNu “Nooligan” Saulque’s Nightwing figure. The design embodies Nooligan’s signature offbeat art style and features a “streetwear” makeover of Dick Grayson, complete with casual sneakers and a custom Nightwing varsity jacket. The standard version hits stores in December 2018, but a special-edition black-and-gold Eclipse variant will be available to purchase exclusively at the convention. The con exclusive is limited to 200 pieces and includes an original sketch of a Batman family character, hand-drawn by Nooligan.

DC Collectibles will also give fans an up-close look at upcoming DC Artists Alley figures from artists Joe Ledbetter and Chrissie Zullo. Ledbetter’s anthropomorphic spinon Batman, the Penguin, Catwoman and Robin will be on display in the DC Collectibles booth alongside Zullo’s whimsical transformations of Batgirl, Hawkgirl, Supergirl and Wonder Woman.Both sets of figures will hit stores in 2019, but fans attending the show can purchase custom art prints from each artist…and that’s not all. DC Collectibles will also debut additional DC Artists Alley figures from a surprise artist to be announced at the show…stay tuned!

Time for a bit of catch up and a bit of preview at the same time! Today we are posting up a mega gallery for the latest DC Collectibles DC Essentials figures. The second wave of regular figures featured Superman, Brainiac, Aquaman and Black Manta. This continues the VS. theme of the releases, joining Batman, Deathstroke, Flash and Reverse Flash from wave 1. On top of the DC Essentials line proper, there are also Watchemen Doomsday Clock figures releasing in actual two packs. They aren’t labeled Essentials, but are essentially Essentials (rim shot, eyyy). These include 4 classic characters and two new ones as seen in the ongoing comic series that brings the Watchmen into the DC Universe canon. Dr. Manhattan and Ozymandias, Rorschach and Mime, and Comedian and Marionette. In a perfect world, Mime and Marionette would have been paired up, but they split them among two classic guys to help movie units (I’m guessing). They are a couple in the books and themed similarly. The Comedian / Marionette pack is actually new and hasn’t fully released yet, so today’s set is a preview of that one.

The Dark Knight and his foes are taking over the DC Collectibles slate in 2019. Announced today at New York Comic Con, DC Collectibles will debut a dedicated Bat-cowl line and new Batman-themed statues next summer.

Expanding its best-selling DC Gallery line of prop replicas, DC Collectibles will celebrate the distinct designs of the Caped Crusader’s iconic cowl seen in comics, video games and more, with a collection of 1:2 scale Bat-cowl replicas. The first Bat-cowl is inspired by DC’s critically acclaimed DC Universe Rebirth comics and will hit stores in May 2019. The DC Rebirth cowl will be followed by the 3-D interpretation of Batman’s cowl featured in the fan-favorite Batman: Arkham Asylum video game produced by Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Fans can bring home the Arkham Asylum cowl replica in July 2019.

“In some instances, like the Bat-cowl, the accessories of the DC Universe are just as iconic as the characters,” said Jim Fletcher, executive creative director of DC Collectibles. “Our DC Gallery line makes these popular accessories the star of the piece and offers something new and different for collectors to display on their shelves. The new Bat-cowl line pays tribute to the Dark Knight’s different looks throughout his nearly 80-year history. Every fan has a favorite Batman, and our goal is to bring to life as many incarnations of the Caped Crusader’s signature cowl as we can, whether it be from comics or another source.”

Additional Batman items announced by DC Collectibles today include a new DARK NIGHTS: METAL statue by Greg Capullo featuring the Merciless, a new Batman Black & White statue of The Joker based on artist Sean Murphy’s acclaimed BATMAN: WHITE KNIGHT comic book and a new Harley Quinn Red, White & Black statue based on Frank Cho’s variant cover of HARLEY QUINN #50.

In non-Batman-related news, DC Collectibles also revealed new character additions to the company’s popular DC Essentials action figure line. Wonder Woman, the Cheetah, Supergirl and Cyborg Superman will hit stores in June 2019.

The new DC Universe service is now live. Fans can sign up to get access to the shows, movies, comics, fan experiences and more. Along with the content service, pre-orders are now open for the DC Collectibles Justice League Animated Series 6″ Scale Figures. After signing up for the service (which is $7.99 per month or $74.99 for a year), you can then pre-order the figures. Each figure is priced at $28, with a bundle containing all 8 figures for $194. The figures should be shipped out by November 30th. Included are:

DC Collectibles has announced a new line of 7″ scale statues based on the DC Comics story arc Dark Nights: Metal. The statues will be based on the artwork of Greg Capullo, with nine characters planned. The first statues will be available in May 2019, and they are kicking off the line with The Dawnbreaker. This Green Lantern inspired version of Batman hails from Earth-32 in the comics. It will include an interchangeable portrait.

The Dawnbreaker Statue will be priced at $85. After the jump, check out the press release, a photo and a video of the upcoming statue. We will update on further releases in the line as they are revealed.

Time to take a look at the third and fourth release of the new DC Collectibles DC Essentials line.  Flash and Reverse Flash get repped here sporting Rebirth era suits, which are pretty clean and timeless, they can easily swap in any Flash display.   The figures use the same base body as Batman and Deathstroke, and between the two there are no significant changes to sculpt.  Paint differentiates the two.  If there is any sculpting change with the face it’s minimal, the different style of painting the lips on is the biggest change there.

Overall they are sharp especially in paint and it’s application, but both have the same issues as Batman and Deathstroke, see our previous story for the full run down.  Short version – tolerance issues with the leg joints and overly long arms.  It makes sense for these guys to be repaints of each other, but being the same body build as the previous two and next couple rounds is a negative.
