Diamond Select toys Mimimates Series 54 sports Mark Gruenwald’s mid ’90s Captain America from #425-443 print run, that also includes Robot Red Skull from issue #42 of Captain America in 2008 where he is shot by Captain America and is downloaded into his robot body. Also of special note is Winter Soldier and a nice version of Viper a.k.a. Madame Hydra. Each Minimate stands 2 inches tall and includes a variety of interchangeable parts and accessories. Diamond Select Toys has released photos and design sheets for Marvel Minimates Series 54. The latest series is centered around comic counterparts to Captain America: The Winter Soldier. A perfect companion series for those buying the movie versions of the Minimates. Due out early next month. The 2-packs include:

• Viper and Hydra Elite

Art Asylum has revealed the packaging for their upcoming The Wolverine Minimates. The comic shop assortment hits stores tomorrow! The Toys “R” Us assortment is due out later this year. Here’s the breakdown:

Diamond Select Toys via Marvel.com has revealed Captain America Winter Soldier themed Minimates due out next year in conjunction with the movie push. A total of 7 figures are shown, check the details below and the pic after the break!

With seven different Minimates to collect, Series 54 will be available at comic shops and specialty toy stores in January in four different two-packs. The first set includes “Fighting Chance” Captain America from Mark Gruenwald’s classic storyline and Robot Red Skull from Ed Brubaker’s acclaimed run on the title. Next up is ex-sidekick the Winter Soldier (with sniper rifle), who comes with his successor the Falcon (with his sidekick Redwing). Finally, classic Cap foe Baron Strucker will come with a caped Hydra Elite and a short-packed variant set will pair the Hydra Elite with Madame Hydra, a.k.a. Viper!
