Theundercats Ultimates Packaging

Super 7 has released an 80s style toy commercial for their upcoming Thundercats Ultimates line of action figures.  It really nails the old school style of commercials from that time and is worth a watch.  In addition, the team has shared mock ups for the packaging which includes a window box display along with a slip cover.  Read on to check those out.  You can pre-order your copies at our sponsors below or at Super 7 here.

Power Con 2019

Power Con 2019 is in progress out on the west coast and multiple new figures from multiple lines are on display. Super 7 is there with their Ultimates lines including Thundercats and TMNT. Thundercats Ultimates

The Thundercats are on the loose once again!  Super 7 have finally revealed what we were all hoping for once they picked up MOTUC – the continuation of Mattel and The Four Horsemen’s Thundercats Classics line of  7 inch figures!  Now titled Thundercats Ultimates – to kick things off they will be re-releasing four of the original figures with upgraded accessories.  Included in round 1 is Lion-O, Panthro, Jackalman and Mumm-Ra.  Read on to check out additional details and images for each.  You can pre-order your copies at Super 7 here.  Keep an eye on our sponsors for listings as well.  Each one is listed at $45 USD, and are due to ship in Spring 2020.

Mini Co Thundercats Preview 001

A new line of stylized Thundercats Statues have been revealed by Iron Studios’ sub-brand known as Mini Co. The statues were revealed during CCXP Cologne in Germany last week, and are based on the original 80’s cartoon. They will be sold by Iron Studios, with an expected release in the fourth quarter of the year. Included are:

  • Lion-O
  • Cheetara and Snarf
  • Panthro
  • Tygra

No pricing or details have been released at this time. Typically, Mini Co. statues stand about 5″ to 6″ tall depending on character, and sell for between $17 to $25 each. Check out the photos after the jump.

Last week, Funko released official details for their Savage World Horror Figures. Today, we have an update on their highly anticipated Thundercats Savage World Figures. With the “Savage World” title, Funko is bringing together multiple licenses together and designing figures in classic Masters of the Universe 5.5″ body styles. The first assortment includes Lion-O, Panthro, Mumm-Ra and Slithe. This is only a small sample of the Thundercats and other Savage World figures that are coming. Many more were revealed at Toy Fair 2018. Look for these to hit in October at a price of about $13 each.

Funko dropped a major series of new licenses at Toy Fair 2018! If you’re familiar with their Mortal Kombat 5.5″ Figures, then these will fit right in with those. Among the new items are Thundercats, Horror icons and Conan the Barbarian! The lien is officially known as Savage World. Of interest to horror fans is that the horror characters have been re-imagined as barbaric warriors to fit in with the stylized designs. Seen here are:

Solicitations have gone out to comic and specialty shops for new vinyl action figures by The Loyal Subjects. These include new Aliens, Horror and Mega Man figures. They stand about 3.75″ tall each, feature articulation, and are blind boxed. End of the line! The Thundercats Classic line has officially hit it’s end (for now) with the shipment of Panthro. He’s the last of the short run subscription from Mattycollector. Panthro joins SDCC exclusives Wily-Kit and Wily-Kat, Lion-O, Jackalman, Pumyra and Mumm-Ra. While not complete, and may never will be, it was a great run with tons of potential. The Lion-O and Mumm-Ra were top of the line figures, even just by themselves it’s worth having on display for the nostalgia factor. Panthro is a great compliment to Lion-O, but would be so much better with the rest of his first season cast mates. As a figure, Panthro is sharp, sculpt and paint are on point. Articulation is solid and his accessories are as well. He comes with an extra set of hands, his signature chained fighting sticks with spinning action attachment, his Thundrillium Detector (aka Thundrometer), and the Key of Thundera.

Let’s take a look and try not to shed a tear for what could have been after the break!
