An updated Visual Guide for the Alien franchise releases has been shared by NECA for their “12 Days of Downloads”. There are two versions available. The first contains just the figures, while the second features a collection of the card back art used through the years. It doesn’t look like this guide contains any announcements or surprises, and only collects the figures that have been announced. You can see both guides after the jump. For much higher resolution versions, check out the NECA Site.

Advanced Look: Prometheus The Lost Wave by NECA – Toyark Photo Shoot
In 2012, fans of the Alien series were introduced to Prometheus, Ridley Scott’s long awaited return to the mythology he helped create. Originally conceived as a more direct prequel to Alien, the film script underwent rewrites to distance itself from the origin of the Xenomorph we all know and fear. Prometheus combined gorgeous visuals, a stellar performance by Michael Fassbender as the android David, and deep questions on the origin of life, and the consequences of trying to answer those questions. The film was immediately polarizing to fans of the Alien franchise. Some loved the set up, visuals and new additions to the lore, while others were turned off by odd character decisions, the lack of answers to the numerous questions and the absence of the actual Xenomorph species. The movie ultimately under performed at the North American box office (but did considerably better overseas).
Action figures created by NECA Toys never seemed to strike a chord with fans, as the line ultimately ended with only a handful of molds produced, and major characters being cancelled. Over time, a few of these figures have become highly sought after, including the Deacon (the creature seen at the end of the film). Fast forward to December 2016, and fans began getting a taste for the (now released) Alien: Covenant, a film which promised to bring Prometheus and Alien together. NECA saw this as a prime opportunity to get fans the figures they wanted, and release the final three figures that were underway when the Prometheus line was a cancelled. Dubbed The Lost Wave, this three-figure assortment brings fans the highly requested Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, the infected version of Sean Fifield and the daughter of Peter Weyland, Meredith Vickers.
NECA has provided us with advanced samples of the soon to be released figures! We have over 70 high resolution photos and a full review. Check out the photo shoot and my thoughts on the assortment by reading on.
Prometheus: The Lost Wave – Vickers Near Final Figure
Check out a new photo of Meredith Vickers from NECA’s Prometheus: The Lost Wave. The figure is part of the resurrected Prometheus line, and showcases the near final blister card layout and what looks to be the finalized figure. She will be joined by Zombie Fifield and Dr. Elizabeth Shaw in the assortment. They are now scheduled for a June release.
In preparation for its upcoming sequel, Alien: Covenant, we return to Ridley Scott’s sci-fi thriller Prometheus!
At long last, this series includes the never-released figures fans have been requesting: Vickers, Shaw and Fifield. The 7” scale figures are entirely movie accurate and feature over 25 points of articulation. Vickers (Charlize Theron) comes with flamethrower and removable helmet. Shaw (Noomi Rapace) comes with axe, removable helmet and the android David’s severed head. Fifield (Sean Harris) comes with flashlight and removable helmet. Clamshell packaging.
Unreleased NECA Prometheus Figures Coming April 2017
Sadly, the sales on Prometheus figures was never strong enough to justify continuing the line back in 2013. With enough time passing since some were disappointed in the film, a new movie and incomplete collections, fans have been vocal in wanting to see a few of these figures get released. However, with the Prometheus film and Alien franchise officially coming together in Alien: Covenant, NECA is taking the opportunity to bring a lost wave to fans! In the first quarter of 2017, NECA will be releasing three highly requested figures in Zombie Fifield, Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and Meredith Vickers! Here’s more info:
