NECA Behind The Scenes Krang

In a behind the scenes photo, shared by The Toys That Made Us creator Brian Volk-Weiss, we get a look at a new in-progress figure from NECA Toys. As you can see from the photo, it’s the oft-requested Android Body for Krang from their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon line! there are no additional details at the moment. While the full scope of the deal hasn’t been made available just yet, we do have some good news for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans. At least some of NECA’s TMNT figures are getting distribution outside of the United States. On Friday, they had released a cryptic teaser image, showcasing a Turtle shell with assorted stickers from around the world. Those stickers included Poland, the UK, Japan, Italy, Brazil, Canada, Germany, France, and Ireland.

Now, fans are seeing stores from around the world beginning to offer local pre-orders. So far, we can confirm that the TMNT Cartoon 2-Packs will be included in the deal, thanks to posts by Dublin City Comics in Ireland, The G33kry in England, and others that are just starting to post. We’ll update with official word if and when NECA releases those details. For now, if you’re a fan that’s been waiting for NECA Ninja Turtles to hit your area, it may be time to check your local collectible retailers.

A rumor popped up a few weeks back that NECA was going to start selling Classic Cartoon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2-Packs at Target Exclusives. Well, that rumor turned out to be true. The Fwoosh was given a first look at the new 2-packs. The figures are re-releases of the insanely popular San Diego Comic-Con 2017 Exclusives. The 2-packs include:

  • Leonardo with Shredder
  • Donatello with Krang
  • Raphael with a Foot Soldier
  • Michelangelo with a Foot soldier

The 2-packs will be priced at $50 each. According to the article, if sales of these sets prove popular, it opens up the chance for additional releases like this! These should be released between the end of the month and early March. We’ve shared a few of the photos after the jump, but check out the link above for their full in-hand look.

Please keep in mind, this is a rumor report only. According to Toy Wizards, new listings have shown up via Target’s in-store systems. The new listings indicate the Target stores will be getting an assortment of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2-Packs based on the classic 80’s cartoon, and that they are being done by NECA. If true, chances are these will be repacked and/or repainted versions of the San Diego comic-Con 2017 TMNT Set. According to the report, the sets will include Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael, as well as Krang, Foot Soldiers and Shredder and would be priced at $51.99 for each 2-Pack. We cannot confirm how accurate this info is, but figured it was interesting enough to share with our readers. More details if and when they are released.

Last year, NECA brought fans three great Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles box sets as convention exclusives. The first two sets were based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade Game. Their third set was a Shredder and Foot Clan Set based on the classic Mirage comic series. For San Diego Comic-Con 2017, NECA released a new set, this time bringing together the Turtles and their enemies in one massive box set. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Collector’s Case features Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, as well as the villainous Shredder, Krang with Bubble Walker, and two Foot Soldiers. This set is based on the original cartoon, while many vintage style figures are based on the marketing materials. The figures are packed in a vintage style collectors case with artwork by Archie Comics artist Ken Mitchroney. Each figure includes interchangeable hands and character specific accessories.

The fourth Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles villain statue has been revealed by Good Smile Company. The final piece of the TMNT villains series is Krang, who joins Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady. This series of TMNT Statues was designed by artist James Jean, based on his poster artwork. These are companion pieces to the four Turtles, who were released back in 2015.

Good Smile Company has released photos and details for the newly designed Krang Statue. Featured in his robotic body, Krang stand over 10″ tall and stands atop a diorama base that is meant for display with the other villain statue. Krang will be priced at $227.99. Pre-orders are live now, with the statue scheduled for release in January 2018. Fans who buy all four of the TMNT Villain Statues will have a chance to get a print with the artwork by James Jean. The artwork features all four villains and measure about 8×8 inches. Check out those details Here.
