Time to do some catching up. Thanks for everyone’s patience while we recover from Christmas break. Things may be a little slow for a few more days. So here’s a bit of catch up from NECA. On Twitter, early Christmas morning, they shared out some new teasers. Included were:

  • Batman v Superman – 1/4 Scale Batman Figure Preview
  • Ash vs Evil Dead – 7″ Scale Ash Figure Preview
  • Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 – 8″ Retro Mego Style Leatherface Card Art

They also released their final download from the 12 Days of downloads. It was an awesome looking Classic Video Game Appearance Visual Guide. The guide contains only the figures that come in the game style flapped window box packaging. It doesn’t contain the Robocop vs Terminator figures or the Mego style classic game figures. Rambo: The Force of Freedom was a cartoon and toy line from 1986. The line was spawned from the classic Rambo series of films and was produced by Coleco. For San Diego Comic-Con 2015, NECA produced a great homage to the classic John Rambo figure. Their Rambo: The Force of Freedom 7″ Scale Figure, which Toyark was given a chance to exclusively reveal prior to SDCC, features a paint scheme and packaging that harkens back to the 1986 figure.

Check out all of the video game themed items on display from NECA at San Diego Comic-Con 2015. They showcased their newest Heroes of the Storm figures and a multitude of others. We also see that they are releasing a second version of the NES Friday the 13th Jason Voorhees. That’s the massively popular figures that kicked off their entire VGA line. the new version will feature different paint apps, a Pamela Voorhees head and a box that plays theme music when opened. Here’s everything you can see inside:

NECA has released info on how to acquire their San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusives if you cannot attend the show. Here are the details:

This summer we have six awesome convention exclusives (one of which has a Toys ‘R’ Us exclusive variant) — and because the quantities are lower than in previous years, they’re even more exclusive than before! However, there are TWO ways to procure one DURING Comic Con WITHOUT GOING TO Comic Con… if you’re ready for a little excitement, that is!

1. IN STORE: From July 9th through 12th, we’ll seed a very small number of each in random Toys ‘R’ Us and Hastings stores all across the U.S. Which ones? That would ruin all the fun…

2. ONLINE FLASH SALE: During the show (exact time will be announced soon), we’ll make a small amount available online at necaclub.com – and once they’re gone, the sale’s over! Please note that you will not be able to get these on the Toys ‘R’ Us or Hastings websites.

If you’re a fan of NECA‘s assorted retro inspired figure releases, such as their Kenner Predator and Terminator homages, then you’re in for a treat. NECA was kind enough to give Toyark readers a first look at their next 2015 Convention Exclusive! They are going to have a Rambo figure based on the classic Rambo: The Force of Freedom toyline. The figure features fantastic retro style packaging a ton of accessories and a NECA Rambo Figure Checklist on the back of the card. Here is the info direct from NECA:

2015 Convention Exclusive – Rambo – 7″ Scale Action Figure – Force of Freedom

Brave. Daring. Heroic. No man can stop him! Our newest Rambo action figure is a tribute to the classic “Force of Freedom” line released by Coleco in the late 1980s. Featuring the likeness of Sylvester Stallone, the figure stands approximately 7” tall and has over 25 points of articulation. Rambo comes with machine gun, compound bow, arrows and knife accessories for the battle against S.A.V.A.G.E., as well as a collectible file card with bio. All new head sculpt & new accessories that are unique to this release.

The blister card packaging is an homage to the classic version as well, and features a visual checklist for every NECA Rambo figure to date.

NECA’s extremely popular Classic Video Game Series continues with the release of their Rambo 8-Bit NES Style Figure. This figure is a repaint of their Rambo: First Blood Part II John Rambo 7″ Figure. It features a very detailed cel-shaded paint scheme which was inspired by the NES game. Toyark sponsor Entertainment Earth has provided us with the figure and we have a full photo gallery and review.

NECA debuted a few new Classic Video Game figures at Toy Fair 2015. These included a much requested Godzilla NES Figure, a new Gremlins 2 NES Figure and more. Here’s what was on display:

NECA’s Video Game figures display was mostly figures we had seen before. One new figure that was revealed was a Devil May Cry Dante Deluxe Figure, based on the original Dante, not the reboot DMC Dante. Also on display was their Robocop vs Terminator Figures, their NES Rambo, the box for their Sega Master system Rocky and more.

Earlier this morning, we shared an image of NECA’s great 8-Bit NES Style Rambo 7″ Figure. Now NECA has released a much larger version of the image and some new info. Obviously, the figure uses their Rambo: First Blood Part II – John Rambo Figure as the base. As usual, the figure will feature a cel-shaded paint job, 25 points of articulation and numerous accessories. They confirm the figure will come packaged in a video game styled box, similar to previous NES character releases.

NES Rambo is due out in January 2015. It will be limited to a single production run. See the update, much larger, photo by reading on.

Check out the latest video game inspired figure coming from NECA. They have revealed an NES Themed Rambo 7″ Scale Figure. Based on the 1988 Nintendo Entertainment System Rambo Video Game, which was released by Acclaim. The game is pretty terrible (though it has some pretty killer tunes), but it has inspired another fantastic looking figure from NECA. The figure will be decked out in red pants and a cel-shaded paint job. It will include a bazooka, a knife, and a bow and arrow.
