DST Releases 9 18 2019

A few new items are now in stores from Diamond Select Toys. This week, two Marvel Select releases are available. Those feature Sandman and a Hulk Unleashed action figures. Also in the figure category are the first comic shop assortment of Westworld Select Figures. The final release this week is a new Harley Quinn Statue from the Suicide Squad movie. Marvel Legends 80 Retro

Marvel Legends is pumping out more figures than most can handle over the last couple years, so you need to pick your battles and themes and roll with it. This is a good thing. With the MCU in full swing, they haven’t held back the classic comic line ups either. Case in point are several recent releases – the Marvel 80 Years assortments and the Retro X-Men waves. Most of the Marvel 80 Years figures are vintage renditions of the characters. Today’s look include single packed Captain America, Thor and Iron Man along with the Hulk vs. Wolverine 2 pack. There is also a sweet Colossus vs. Juggernaut set floating around which we didn’t pick up yet. If you combine the 3 singles and the Hulk set, you have a really well done classic Avengers core. As these gems are floating around on shelves, the retro X-Men wave has also hit, featuring ToyBiz inspired decos of the X-Men, complete with retro packaging. While all are well done, people are hyped on Storm and Silver Samurai. Storm does not disappoint.

x Legends Endgame Wave 2 02

It’s been a minute since we’ve run Marvel Legends for galleries but we’re back with a look at Endgame Wave 2. This set features 3 MCU figures and 4 comic figures, with Endgame Hulk as the Build a Figure. Hulk is in his standard ripped pants / no shirt mode but comes with 2 heads. One a tad somber, and one smirking you to death. On the MCU side we have Shuri, Rescue and War Machine Mk 6. All three are solid entries to the Movieverse line up, with Shuri’s photo real tech on the face done well. On the comic side we get fan favorite Beta Ray Bill, excellent head to toe, along with a classic Loki and two deep roster offerings in Rock Python and Union Jack. It’s a really solid wave, all feel great in hand and are clean. The Hulk is refined and sharp but the choice of faces combined with the fact there are multiple other looks Hulk had in the movie makes me wish for something more. I’m sure more Hulkseses are on the way down the road though, there is no shortage of Marvel Legends coming our way.

Hasbro has shared new photos of their upcoming Marvel Vintage Legends Hulk 6″ Scale Figure. The photos gives us a look at the back of the card, and some new promo shots. The figure is a San Diego Comic-Con 2019 Exclusive. It includes a crushed pipe accessory. The figure will be available at the Hasbro booth during the vent, as well as select overseas conventions. Non-attendees will have a chance to purchase the figure as well. After SDCC 2019, a limited number will be available via Hasbro Pulse. The figure is priced at $34.99.
