New photos and official details have been released for the upcoming MAFEX Tetsujin 28 Figure. In the US, Tetsujin 28 is more commonly known as Gigantor. The upcoming figure stands nearly 8″ tall. It includes multiple interchangeable hands, and flame effects pieces for the jet pack. It’s scheduled for release in September, and will be priced at 11,000 Yen (about $100 USD). Photos and Details for the Soul of Chogokin Tetsujin 28 Music Loaded 1963 Version
A new product listing by Tamashii Nations showcases this excellent looking new version of Tetsujin 28, known to 70’s and 80’s kids as Gigantor in the U.S. The Soul of Chogokin Tetsujin 28 (1963) Music Loaded Version features a mix of diecast and plastic parts and stands a about 6.3″ tall. Tetsujin 208 includes light up and sound effects, including the original theme song. The figure also includes swap out hands and a figure stand. Behind The Scenes Look At Mezco’s Gigantor Figure
A new Behind The Scenes Preview has been posted by Mezco. They are sharing a great look at their upcoming Gigantor 24″ Tall Figure. We saw this massive mech at their Pre-Toy Fair 2016 Event, and it is definitely a sight to behold. Details from Mezco:
Gigantor: Young Jimmy Sparks resides on a remote island with his guardian and mentor, scientist Dr. Bob Brilliant. Jimmy fights crime across the globe with the help of a huge remote-controlled robot named Gigantor.
We’re really excited to bring you some behind-the-scenes looks at our upcoming Gigantor figure. This massive robot stands 24″ tall, has over twenty points of articulation, and features interchangeable hands and rocket.

Mezco Acquires Gigantor License
Mezco has sent over a new press release. They have announced the acquisition of the Gigantor license to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the U.S. debut of the character. Details are very scarce at the moment. But, with Toy Fair right around the corner, we may not have to wait too long for more info. I expect that we’ll see a variety of products and collectibles from Mezco, which will be coming in the third quarter of the year.
