Of all the recent Madballs releases, the 4″ scale foam Madballs by Kidrobot were my most anticipated. This assortment of classically styled Madballs are similar sculpts to our previously reviewed Blind Box Madballs Mini-Figures and the Madballs Keychains. Standing about 4″ tall each, these are made of a very dense foam and feature highly detailed sculpts at a collector friendly price. Included in the assortment are:

  • Screamin’ Meemie
  • Skull Face
  • Slobulous
  • Horn Head
  • Oculus Orbus
  • Dust Brain

With the resurgence of Madballs, we’re seeing numerous types of releases across different sizes and product types. Kidrobot is leading the charge, with Madballs for vinyl art collectors, blind box fans, standard foam Madballs and even keychains. The Madballs Keychains are what we’re looking at today. The series comes in a blind box assortment and are the smallest of the assorted offerings from Kidrobot. Each character comes blind boxed and features a (removable) key ring attached to the top of the head. There are 16 in total:

Here’s a quick look at the Kidrobot Madballs on display from Toy Fair 2017. Kidrobot had a few new items there, but were mainly showcasing their newly released items. These included the Madballs Vinyl Keychains, the Madballs Mini Blind Boxes, the Madballs Mega Figures and the 4″ Madballs Foam Figures. Some of the foam figures are hitting stores now, with others on the way in the near future.

We’re back with a look at more of the new Madballs items currently hitting various online retailers. Today we have a look at some of the Madballs Bind Box Series 1 by Kidrobot. These smaller Madballs come individually packaged in a blind box counter display. There are a total of 16 Madballs in the assortment. This year, fans of the classic Madballs toy line will have numerous options to grow their collection. There are at least three different companies releasing updates to the classic 80’s toy line. These include Mondo, Kidrobot and Just Play. While both Kidrobot and Mondo are gearing their releases toward collectors, the new line from Just Play is setting their sites on kids as well as collectors. Of the three, Just Play’s designs deviate the farthest from the original series. Their Madballs feature more stylized, cartoon-ish takes on the classic characters, and will be supported by a series of online cartoons coming this year. The Just Play versions are also making their way to standard retail spaces, with Target stores being your best bet to find these. Fans looking to just dip their toes in the line can also opt for the much smaller blind bag assortment from Just Play.

The kid friendly version of the new Madballs, the ones by Just Play, are now showing up in Target stores. Twitter user Toy Empire spotted them at his local Target and snapped a photo of the new releases. According to Toy Empire, at the time the photo was taken, they did not have any pricing or shelf tags. They were simply placed by the Transformers. Included in the photo are:

  • Oculus Orbus
  • Skull Face
  • Dust Brain

There will be many more in this new stylized kid-oriented Madballs series. These Madballs are just a few of the many coming from multiple companies. Both Kidrobot and Mondo have their own Madballs available. Click the banner image for the full photo.

Keychains aren’t really items we post about too often, or ever. But, it’s also not very often where you get miniature, and official, Madballs as keychains! Revealed by Kidrobot, the Madballs Keychains are available now. Each one is a blind box item that is priced at $5.99 each. they also make for great Christmas Tree ornaments. Here are the details from Kidrobot:

It’s a Madballs news day! Back in June, it was announced that Just Play and American Greetings were teaming up for a new kid-friendly line of Madballs. They were revealed at an event, along with a press release, but we hadn’t heard much since then. A great new photo has been shared by Carlos Villagra, who is the head of Illustration and New IP over at American Greetings. He also stated that these should be in stores for Spring 2017, along with some animated shorts. Included are:

  • Horn Head
  • Slobulus
  • Oculus Orbus
  • Screamin’ Meemie
  • Dust Brain

The Madballs license is making a huge comeback. There are multiple lines coming for fans new and old. We already have the newly designed collector edition Madballs coming from Mondo. American Greetings (the owner of the property) is teaming up with Just Play to bring a new assortment aimed at kids,which will apparently be sold in stores. Now, Kidrobot shared a new photo, showing off their own assortment of oversized Madballs! You can spot the following in the photo:

  • Screamin Meemie
