While checking out Toys R Us this weekend I came across some new WWE figures by Mattel. These Mattel WWE 12 Inch Figures differ from their 7 inch counterparts, because though they are all 12″ tall, they’re not necessarily scaled to each other. For example, I found 3 figures:
- John Cena
- Sin Cara
- Alberto Del Rio
However they all appeared to be the same height. I think the wrestlers themselves in real life are not the exact same height nor size. It seems that the figures share the same torso parts but with different arms, legs and head sculpts. Also their sculpts are simpler than the 7″ figures(those figures use a digital scanning technique for sculpts whereas these 12″ figures seem more generic). These are fully articulated figures(not as articulated as the 7″ Elite figures, but more articulated than the 7″ Basic series). Most 12″ figures at brick & mortar retail these days are very simplistic with the bare minimum of articulation. It appears that this might be Mattel’s fully articulated answer to them. I don’t recall the exact price, but I think these figures were under $19.99, however I might be wrong.
As of writing I have only seen these at Toys R Us, though I’m not sure if these are exclusive to them.
