MK11 Commando Spawn Wave 9

In a nice Friday surprise – another new Mortal Kombat 11 Spawn variant has come to the 7 inch scale line – Commando Spawn.  This is an all new mold of the character from the game design, coming packed with two necro energy weapons.  There is a pistol in a holster but it looks molded in.  He was previously seen in 12 inch form, but now he joins the 7 inch ranks.  In addition to Spawn, previously teased Nightwolf and Baraka are also live.  All 3 are due in July 2022, and are retailing for $19.99.  Read on for pics and details, hit our sponsors below to grab your copies!

x Spawn Wave 2 Splash

Todd McFarlane has brought back Spawn in a big way over the last couple years.  The road to 300 expanded the mythos as he broke the independent creator record for longest running book. The year of Spawn took that and expanded it into several new books.  There was a Kickstarter which broke records and brought Spawn into the modern age of toys.  And now we are on wave 2 of a running Spawn action figure line, with Wave 3 already in the works.  Today we are taking a look at some of wave 2 – She-Spawn, Soul Crusher, and Cy-Gor further expand the Spawn Universe line up with solid entries.  A variant of Wave 1’s Violator Megafig with a bit of blood is also inside.  Wave 2 also featured a repaint of Redeemer as Dark Redeemer, and a mass-release of Gunslinger Spawn with new accessories.  Those are not featured here.

medieval spawn kickstarter 4

Todd McFarlane capped a day of Spawn reveals with a quick video teasing a new Kickstarter.  The pieces shown were very reminiscent of Medieval Spawn, something hinted at way back after the first Kickstarter shipped.  In addition, earlier today in the kick off video, a Spawn figure was shown briefly with tons of melee weapons on his back, holding a shield, and rocking a SOFT GOODS cape.

Spawn Overtkill McFarlane Toys 002

A pre-order listing has popped up on Amazon for a new Spawn series figure from McFarlane Toys. The listing gives us a look at the Overtkill Mega Action Figure. The 7″ scale figure is based on one of Spawn’s foes from the comic series. The figure includes a figure stand, and has about 22 points of articulation. Overkill is priced at $49.99, and should be released on July 15th. See the new photos after the jump.

Nicholas worked as a hitman for Luciano Bartino, but was considered an expendable asset. When he died in a hit, his boss didn’t care for the loss. However, Luciano was approached by Eylan Hessman, Nicholas’ half-brother. With funding, Hessman promised to rebuild Rocca into the ultimate killing machine. With cybernetic enhancements he became Overtkill, an unstoppable assassin, and was sent to New York to take down the mysterious Spawn.

2022 Spawn

Another tease from Todd McFarlane and McFarlane Toys, but this time for SPAWN. This was via Todd’s personal FB page, showing off a modified MK11 Spawn figure. It has brighter colors and new parts, specifically the brooch / upper part of the cape. He’s seen standing on a giant cross, which some might remember being part of the fabled 10th anniversary Spawn figure (ebay link) – one of the few fully articulated Spawn figures from the original run of figures. One that is still sought after by collectors today. The cross looks like an upscaled version of the one that came with the Year Two Batman last year. For those who missed out on the Kickstarter project this will be a great way to incorporate a traditional Spawn into the modern articulated roster. z MK11 Spawn Disciple Classic Bloody

McFarlane Toys have dropped two new Mortal Kombat 11 Spawn variants. The recent Malefik aka NetherRealm Armor sculpt gets done up in the white and gold color deco (named Disciple) with extra blood splatter. Noticeably missing is the blue highlights seen throughout this getup in the game. The Iconic sculpt (first one), is in the black/orange color set (named Classic) which always reminded me of the Series 24 i.088 Halloween figure. He also is bloody. Both are available now at retailers across the web for $19.99 with a release date in February 2022. She Spawn Cy Gor 2021

McFarlane Toys have updated their website with new listings for the remaining Wave 2 Spawn 202x figures. She-Spawn and Cy-Gor will complete the wave. No release date, price or purchase location are available at this time. She-Spawn is packed in a larger window box than standard 7 inch solo figures, coming with a wide arsenal of weapons. Spawn 2021 Wave 2

Earlier today, McFarlane Toys showed off Wave 2 of the new Spawn’s Universe (working title) of action figures. The new wave includes two repaints and 3 new figs. Gunslinger Spawn, previously exclusive to Target, gets a mass retail release with some updated paint and a new Gatling gun. Dark Redeemer gets done up in a black and silver deco that is inspired by the original Anti Spawn look. The new figures include She-Spawn, who was recently introduced and will be part of the third new Spawn book this year “The Scorched”, a team up book. Cy-Gor, who looks like a Megafig, rightfully so. And then semi newcomer Soul Crusher. You can check out our Wave 1 and previous galleries here.

mcfarlane toys store

McFarlane Toys are getting in on the Direct To Consumer game with McFarlaneToysStore.com (notice the two S-es).  Teased over the last couple days with various shots including a Last Knight on Earth CTB Bane in a new box, Todd McFarlane did up a quick hype video to officially announce it.

As a bonus when the store launches folks that spend over 50 bucks will get a black/white variant cover of Spawn’s Universe #1.  Random copies will be signed.  If you spend over 200 bucks at launch – you get a black/white variant cover of Spawn’s Universe #1, but guaranteed to be signed.

At the end of the video, it was said that lots of exclusives will be available at the store in the future.  Stay tuned for more and mark down August 4th for the launch!
