Hiya Toys had a number of figures on display at the Diamond Previews booth. There, they showcased a number of their Injustice 2 figures, as well as their new Predator figures. The biggest surprise was an all-new license, as they revealed the prototype for their Robocop 3.75″ scale figure! See the photos after the jump.

After the police force goes on strike, Alex Murphy and his partner Anne Lewis are the lone officers remaining on duty to protect Old Detroit. A new drug known as Nuke begins circulating the city, with a psychopath known as Cain acting as the mastermind behind the drug’s production. With the perceived success of the Robocop program, OCP begins development on a new, more powerful Robocop. However, each test malfunctions with some of the subjects choosing suicide over being a cyborg. A rogue OCP scientist enacts her own Robocop development, using the brain of the drug kingpin Cain as the basis for the monstrous new cyborg.
Within a year of announcing their MAFEX Robocop figure, Medicom had revealed plans to release version based on Robocop 2 and Robocop 3. All three has been announced just in time for the initial release of their first Robocop figure. This gave fans of the character the chance to pick and chose which figure or figures they’d want as part of their collection. Each release has a some significant differences to make them unique. The MAFEX Robocop 2 Figure is now available, with the part 3 version set to hit this Summer.
For the Robocop 2 release, Medicom switched out a few of the hands, removing the needle spike fist, and adding two new gripping hands.The color of the armor was adjusted to have a bluer tint, and a few new accessories were added. After numerous teasers and behind the scenes photos, the highly anticipated Robocop Life Size Bust will go up for pre-order tomorrow. Chronicle Collectibles has sent over official photos and full details for the upcoming bust. While they previously released a Robocop 1/2 Scale Bust, this is a completely new sculpt. The final bust will stand over 30″ tall atop a themed base. It will be cast in polyresin.
Pre-orders kick off at 3:00 PM Central Time on April 19th. The bust is priced at $1,399, with optional interest free payment plans available. Look for it to be released in the second quarter of 2020. Check out the new photos and full details after the jump.
Chronicle has shared a quick update on the bust. They have taken feedback from fans and collectors into account, and will adjust the facial features to be as accurate as possible. Here’s their post:
Based on the constructive feedback we’ve received since our announcement for the 1:1 Robocop bust, we are going to tweak the facial features in the final product to better reflect the beloved character’s appearance. Our friends at Chronicle Collectibles sent us a few exclusive behind the scenes photos. The images give us a great new in-progress look at their upcoming Robocop Life Size Bust. Previous previews have shown off unpainted prototypes, which gave us a great look at the scale and overall look they were going for. They have begun to apply painted details to the bust, and the photos showcase the helmet, chest plate, and full torso with logo stand as it gets closer to completion. The iconic shine, which is reminiscent of a new car, looks great here.
Please keep in mind, that this is still an unfinished sample and work continues to make is as close to movie quality as possible. The second production run of Medicom’s MAFEX Robocop is available now. We missed out on the first run, but immediately jumped in when the second run was announced. The 6″ scale figure is based on the original Robocop film from 1987. Considered a cult sci-fi masterpiece, the film takes place in the near future and follows a Detroit Police Officer named Alex Murphy. While he and his partner, Anne Lewis, are tracking down a ruthless gang, Murphy is brutally killed. OCP, the mega-corporation that runs Detroit and now owns the police rebuilds the slain officer in the powerful cyborg Robocop.
