Robocop – Battle Damaged ED-209 by Hiya Toys

Posted on January 15, 2021 at 10:00 am by Joe Moore under Robocop Toy News

Hiya Battle Damaged Robocop 002

Hiya Toys is going to be releasing a variant of their ED-209 figure. Solicitations have gone out for a Robocop – Battle Damaged ED-209 Figure. This 1/18 scale release stands about 5.5″ tall. It features a heavily damaged left arm, other damaged bits, and new foot sculpting to depict the scene with ED-209 trying to navigate the staircase. The figure has built in voice and sound effects as well.

A PREVIEWS Exclusive!  It is the city of Old Detroit. The time: tomorrow! Hiya Toys revisits the ED-209 figure with a special battle-damaged variant. With an exploded cannon on one arm, and featuring scars from its top-floor battle with Robocop, this film-accurate 1/18 scale figure stands 5 1/2″ tall and is a perfect reproduction of one of the 80s coolest (and most incompetent) villains. The Battle Damaged ED-209 features a sound chip with movie-accurate sound effects and dialogue, while also featuring a new foot sculpt!

The figure will be a Previews Exclusive, and will be available from comic shops, and most online collectible retailers. The ED-209 Figure is priced at $49.999. Look for it to be released in November 2021. Check out a few photos after the jump.

NECA Ultimates Checklist

For their “12 Days of Downloads“, a new Ultimate 7″ Scale Figure Visual Guide has been shared by NECA. The guide brings together some of their Ultimate Figures as a large checklist. Unfortunately, they left off any items that may have been a part of other visual guides, making this an incomplete checklist of their Ultimate line up. Missing are the T2 John Connor with his bike, as well as Ultimates from Aliens, Predator, Gremlins, and Back to the Future. You can check out the Visual Guide by clicking the banner image above. For a much larger version, check out the NECA Site.

Robocop 1 and 2 Figures by Hiya Toys – Toyark Photo Shoot

Posted on October 29, 2020 at 3:24 pm by Joe Moore under Random Photo Shoot, Robocop Toy News

z Robocop Hiya Figures

For me, one of the greatest character designs in movie history was Robocop. Long before Iron Man was a blip on the Hollywood radar, Robocop was the armored hero that captured my imagination. Robocop had this retro futuristic look that reminded me of all the airbrushed robot art that was the rage in the mid to late 80’s. As a kid, his bulky silver and black armor reminded me of a human Transformer. The rigid movements combined with the audible gears shifting, and his booming voice felt like a cartoon come to life. Well, an ultra violent cartoon that is. But that impression has lasted decades, and it has made Robocop one of the few characters I’ll buy in nearly any scale (so long as I think the collectible looks good).

Hiya Toys has offered a pretty large slate of Robocop figures. They have released standard figures, battle damaged versions, and additional variants based on the three original films. The first assortment of figures has begun to hit retail. Today we’re taking a look at the standard editions of Robocop from the first two films. We grabbed these figures from Toyark sponsor Entertainment Earth. After the jump, you can see  review and gallery for both figures.
