I’m calling in Veronica… Avengers Age of Ultron may not top the Avengers movies in terms of fan favorites, but it did introduce one of the best Iron Man armors of them all – the Mark XLIV aka the Hulkbuster. It’s presence and the fight with Hulk were one of the best MCU moments for me. As such, I’ve grabbed versions of it as much as I could over the years. Today marks an official upgrade on my shelf with the arrival of threezero’s DLX Hulkbuster. It’s part of their DLX line of figures, which take their awesome detail, paint and tech from the larger pieces and shrink it down to about 1/12 scale. It pairs well with their standard XLIII figure (see our gallery here), which actually fits inside this one! This is due to ship in Q1 2022 – and threezero was kind enough to send through a copy a bit early for us to check out. Read on for some additional thoughts and over 80 HD images!

ThreeZero have been expanding their line up of high end collectibles figures over the last several years. They started primarily with 1/6th scale figures now called Figzero, then moved into high end Transformers replicas from the movies, now called Premium Scale. They’ve since created the DLX line for Transformers, which spawned ROBO-DOU, both smaller yet high end robotic themes in the 8-16 inch range. ThreeZeroX is super premium crossover re-imaginings. They even dipped into 1:12 scale clothed figures for a bit with Figzero S.
Now they are bringing that sweet spot of the DLX and ROBO-DOU line into a new segment – Marvel DLX. These are advertised as 1:12 scale figures with die-cast, high end paint, lights, and massive articulation. A serious figure at a smaller scale. The first up is Iron Man in his Mark XLIII (43) armor from Avengers age of Ultron. And pretty soon after the announcement – yes, they are also doing an in-scale Hulkbuster.
ThreeZero was kind enough to send through a copy to check out a bit early. We’ve run it for a set of pics, basic and fancy, after the break. These are currently open again for a second round of pre-orders, so if you dig it get those orders in. You can grab him at the ThreeZero Store or your preferred ThreeZero stockist. The second batch is due to ship in Q1 2022.

Quick set today for a wave of Marvel Legends! The Disney+ Wave featured a solid line up of MCU characters all from the first wave of shows – Wandavision, Falcon and Winter Soldier and Loki. The Build a Figure wasn’t actually a figure, but the wings needed to get Sam Wilson Captain America in full flight mode with his upgraded Falcon gear. I’ve moved to grabbing key pieces for Marvel and then shooting them for the site even less, just keeping them on shelf for self. But this wave was solid front to back and I wanted dem wings, so a full wave and shoot it is!
We’ve done up over 55 HD shots after the break, read on to check them out along with some quick thoughts. These come courtesy of Dorkside Toys, check them out for all your Marvel Legends needs!

Quick drop for some recent Marvel Legends releases today with a look at some more X-Men 20th Anniversary figures and a set for Retro Spider-Man. I grabbed one of my most wanted Marvel Legends a while back in the form of Movie Deadpool (see our gallery here). I was thinking about grabbing Wolverine and Mystique since they both looked really well done, but hadn’t pulled the trigger yet. Well, Hasbro PR to the rescue, because they recently sent out a promotional box to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the X-Men movies and the figures they are doing for it. Included were figs for Wolverine (jacket), Mystique, Cable and Domino (which we shot earlier this year, see above). They all came packed in a nifty themed box too featuring that awesome artwork on the packages.
In addition to those, I’ve also had Retro Spidey here for a while, just never got around to posting up the gallery for him. This is the new tech body with a more streamlined look and great range of articulation. It’s now “thee” comic Spider-Man I think, replacing Pizza Spidey, until they figure how to do this again but pinless. :).
So read on to check out some quick shots showing all these guys off, courtesy of Hasbro and my wallet. All these are out in the wild now, so hit our sponsors or your favorite spots to pick them up!
Last month, we shared news on a line of Japanese exclusive Marvel collectibles coming from toy shop Toy Sapiens. The Heroic Hands feature life size replica hands of three of the most popular Marvel Comics heroes. Those include Deadpool, Spider-Man, and Iron Man. The 1/1 scale collectibles stand roughly 10″ tall each, and are cast in resin. They are priced at 15,000 Yen (about $144 USD) each, and have just been released. A wide array of color variants (as seen on the attached flyer) are available in Japan now.
Toy Sapiens reached out and sent over the first three collectible Heroic Hands to check out. After the jump, you can check out my photos and some quick impressions on the new Marvel items.
Hasbro revealed all new figures for Marvel back during Pulsecon – Retro inspired 3.75 figures as if Kenner had done them in the 80s. These are simple, 5 points of articulation style figs with very retro looks, both on the card and the figure. They are indeed 3.75 inch, not the 4 inches + that the scale has grown to in recent years. Hasbro has sent through samples for us to check out and we’ve run them for some quick shots showing them off. Check inside for all the standard fare plus some comparison with 6 inch Legends and modern era 1/18th scale figs.
All in all I thought they were great for what they were when they were revealed, and now that they are in hand nothing’s changed. For me, they’re awesome filler figs for the Marvel shelves and things I can have around on the desk to fiddle with. At this point in my collecting adventures, if I am going to do 3.75 / 4 inch, I’d prefer it be simple like this. Save the realism and articulation for 1/12.
These are all the Hasbro Pulse exclusive versions. They are launching with 2 pack boxes, that contain 2 individually carded figures inside. Eventually, these will be available at mass retail single carded. With one exception – the Black Panther / Iron Man pack features foil cardbacks and is exclusive to Hasbro Pulse in this 2 pack format.
These are due to ship in December 2020 and are not sold out yet, so check them out and if you dig em pick yourself up a set here!
Time for a quick drop for a set of recently released figures from Marvel Legends – Fox X-Men Universe Movie Deadpool, Domino and Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Deadpool comes in a 2 pack with Negasonic, and Domino is a solo release. Movie Cable fills out this line up and is out but is not featured here. I’m picky with my Marvel collection, but Movie Deadpool was high on my list of wanted figures from any line. Negasonic for me is a tubber, not speaking on the figure’s quality at all, just don’t care for the character. Domino I thought was well done in the movie, and well done as a figure here, even tho it’s not a pure comic representation – so she gets to hang with Wade on the shelf.
All in all Deadpool delivers. I had some issues with a factory defect but was able to get it functional with some surgery. The sculpt is really sharp head to toe, it captures the lines of the movie suit. Eyes pop just like the movie, articulation range is solid. His real world guns in holsters are glued in, but technically can come out if you wanted to put some work in. He comes with additional pistols, swords and yes, a Unicorn. Great figure and glad he’s here. Domino, really dig the face sculpt and the translucent hair was a nice touch.

As we all hunker down and wait out the crazy going on in the world I figured I’d run a semi-recent wave of Marvel Legends for a shoot. The Spider-Man Demogoblin Wave. I got a couple promo copies, then ran into a couple more in trade, and finally decided to finish it off through purchases. The wave consists of Velocity Suit Spider-Man and Spider-Armor MK III from the PS4 game, comic Vulture, Superior Octopus, Shang-Chi, and White Rabbit. The Build A Figure is Demogoblin.
Different folks will dig different figs here. I loved the PS4 game, but all the ML versions released so far haven’t hit for me, including these two. Vulture is a great classic rendition and will pair with recent Doc Ock, Scorpion and the like for your rogues gallery. Superior Octopus is a modern storyline that I’m not 100% up on but looks faithful to the source. Shang-Chi is the comic rendition primer getting us all ready for the movie in MCU phase 4. Lot of goodies here – tons of extra hands and some nunchucks, plus a ton of articulation lets you hit all those Kung-Fu poses. White Rabbit caps it off with a super deep roster offering. Demogoblin is well done, lots of great sculpt going on. He comes with a flame glider and stand to keep it hovering, a nice touch.
All in all it’s a fun wave. It’s out in the wild now. Read on to check out 80+ pics courtesy of Dorkside Toys!
Time for another catch up gallery! Today is a set for two recent S.H. Figuarts Avengers Endgame figures – Hulk and Iron Man Mark 85. The Hulk was solicited here in the States officially, but Iron Man 85 did not and was only available in Japan (officially). However, this was one of my most desired S.H. Figuarts Marvel figures once I saw those initial pics – the 85 Armor was really sharp in the MCU Thanos Saga finale and the SHF version of it really pops. The metallic paint head to toe really makes the sleekness of the armor stand out, the gold on the arms and legs contrast with the red perfectly. It’s a great way to cap off the armor evolution in the series. Now, an alternate version of this is coming with battle damage and extra weapons, and that IS being solicited in the States (officially), so those looking to grab him can that way through your normal shopping channels.
We’ve run both of these guys through some base and fancy pants shots, read on to check it out after the break!
