FROM THE DWELL OF SOULS
Once a menacing decal on the OG Castle Grayskull, we took this flippered fiend from the dungeon and made him into an articulated MOTU Origins figure.
A RIBBETING STORY
This ancient Eternian Sorcerer Prince found himself transformed and imprisoned beneath Castle Grayskull. Now, he’s hopping straight from the dungeon to your collection.

MOTU Origins Frog Monger Revealed
Hmm... I thought Frog Monger was a unique character and not some generic troop builder like these photos indicate. And now I'm suddenly tempted to get 2 next week. Dammit Mattel!
Odd figure to end Origins on but...
What? Didn't you know? Scott "Spector Creative" Neitlich says MOTU Origins, Masterverse and the CG toon lines are all ending by April!

Funny Sean C.lol.
I watched Toyguru’s video, it doesn’t seem right to me. I’m always concerned for motu at retail….honestly I’m concerned for all toys.
The fact that the CGI series just had the castle come out doesn’t seem like that’s a dying line thing to do.
Masterverse seems like it’s really going places, especially with the movie figures finally being done.
Origins, mattel just showed us Snake mountain. They just sold a $650 playset not due until next year. Plus more retail exclusives and creations exclusives.
This doesn’t seem right to me. I will always credit Scott for giving us the largest, longest running Motu line ever. I think he is off on this.
I wonder if someone isn't feeding Scott lies just to finally discredit him. He still says Universal owns MOTU, but Scott seems to be the only person who knows it. To dig out another overused phrase, "it's the hill he wants to die on".
Or he's just trolling Mattel and the fansbase? No idea at this point.
Oh, he also maintains toys can't make it at retail without kid support. Yet...seems like there are ones out there, with little to no kid/parent interest. The few TVC Star Wars that make it to brick and mortar probably aren't being bought by Timmy's allowance money.
The toy market has changed since his time. Higher price points and smaller production numbers seem to be the new way. Add on that numerous news sites have stories on how adults are the largest increase of toy buying.
I also wonder if he wasn’t heavily trolled.

I don't agree with Scott on everything, but while he no longer is at Mattel, he still works around the toy industry and knows what's going on. I also watch his videos and while sometimes he may be off I do think he's right about a few things.
One is at brick and mortar you do need kid support to stay alive, which Mattel clearly understands because they are focusing a lot on the Netflix line and other little kid friendly things to go after a younger generation. I think all the major companies do this, which is why every collector line in the toy aisle is backed by kid friendly toys to keep these brands strong and evergreen.
The other is that the future of all of these lines in 2023 is concerning. No, I don't think MOTU dies in April or whatever, but the continued shrinking of shelf space and the massive amount of Masterverse and Origins that keeps ending up in the clearance aisle is still troubling. I just don't see Target and Walmart putting up with that for much longer. I do think they'll continue to do well enough online to continue, but pretty soon that could be the only place once again where you'll find He-Man.
Honestly, I’m more concerned over marvel legends. I’m not saying kids don’t buy motu, but the only ones I ever saw a kid touch in front of me was the CGI figures.
I would say most action figures are destined for the electronics department. Kids aren’t buying $40 Neca items, yet Walmart and target stock them. For toys, children are not the future. It’s about catching them when they become adults. Funko pops ( as much as I hate them) have created a gateway for young adults to start collecting again.
FROG MONGER!!!! COOL! I gotta have this guy! I hope it doesn't sell out. MORE MORE MORE MORE!
I’ll take him.
nice more new origins hoping it doesn't sell so quick ill have to be working likely . Ive been enjoying origins 80s nostalgia but seriously glad characters like Frog Monger are created.
Frog Monger lasted about 50 minutes I heard.
I didn't get one because, the line is over and who cares...
Yeah, I got two.
