Indiana Jones Product Reveal Livestream for Jan 2023
Hahahah..this company is clueless.
Who are they making the kids toys for..little kids don't watch Indiana Jones unless force fed nostalgia by their parents.
I just made a thread for all the new adult collector figures whoops
Man, this looks like a ton of pegwarmers coming
One sleeved Indy from the bridge scene in Temple of Doom was my main want from this line. Him and a couple of others and im pretty much done.

In your defense no one seems to give a f*** that a new Indiana Jones movie is coming out. I certainly don't.
Hasbro is not doing a great job with these kids lines.

We never know how much insistence there is from Lucasfilm/Disney. They may require Hasbro make something for the kids. I'd think anyone at Hasbro would know that kid appeal is low for the franchise.
I simply cannot understate how p*ssed off I am that there's no modern 3.75" Indiana Jones line. Hasbro clearly think the only people who are interested in the 1/18 scale are nostalgia seekers who only want retro reproductions. But then considering they're slowly tightening the stranglehold on their only fully articulated premium 3.75" line (Star Wars: The Vintage Collection) by offering less and less newly tooled modern figures every year, it would be hard to conduct market research to really prove that.
Well I'm happy to know Short Round is coming. But other than him, I really only want Mola Ram.
Lets Pray For...
"Indiana Jones" ;^)
The toy company should still be the think tank that invents/designs/produces the product at retail. This Hasbro fails at all the time. Which is why their stock has been so terrible. And why their shareholders are going ape shit.
Yup, I don't know that many kids that are interested in old dudes looking for old things. But then again, we all know that it's not kids that are still buying toys, but us "grown up" (note the quotes!) collectors. I would be inclined to buy an Indy or two if only they look like Indy/Harrison Ford, but they don't.
Yup, this line's going to crash and burn.

Hasbro needs to know Indy is a niche franchise it doesn't have the Mass appeal like Star Wars does.
Indiana Jones is a dated franchise. It might have been popular with kids from 90 years ago. But seriously the ones who would buy toys from these movies would shell out a lot for decent figures. Looking at Hot Toys, get license to the first 3 movies
I think Hasbro should redo the 12 inch indy line. Itll probably save money using the same buck, and new outfits.
Just....no one will buy that 12 inch indy...not detailed or poseable for adult collectors, and will be like "who's indy?"
Notice how the really dumb decisions all come from the same place? No effort Rancor. Arbitrary price hikes. Reva's Lightsaber. Derivative Ghost Rider for $350 with stretch goals more desirable than the base offering. Twelve and under toys for a property that was popular 30 years ago. What do they all have in common?
Disney. People can pretend they have no say in what gets made but they're delusional. If you think what Hasbro makes is junk that's another story, but if you don't think they asked/insisted on kids toys to tie in with the upcoming movie then you actually don't understand marketing.
WOTC has their problems as well. And I'm sure the Power Rangers, Transformers and GI Joe crowds all have their gripes. Nothing compares to the continued blunders of the properties owned by Disney. Christ, the Joe brand is run by an obvious SJW and even she understands what moves to make.
If you dislike Hasbro this much I get it. I don't know why you keep buying stuff from them or keep thinking they're going to change, but I get why you don't like them.
It's great that they are reissuing the German Mechanic figure in the retro line. I remember that my local Toys R Us still had them in the clearance section after Last Crusade came out.
I just don’t see this line really doing much. And right outta the gate 3 exclusives. Maybe we can get some vehicles outta the line but theres just does not seem to be much longevity in this seriew.
I don’t think kids want toys made after grandpa. I mean, I’d get maybe Indiana Jones 6” action figure if I see it in the store cuz nostalgia. That’s it.
So is the second wave two Temple Indys, Short Round, and Dial Indy and Helena? And two of the three exclusives are more variant Indys and one the main villain of a movie?
Are we even going to get waves for Last Crusade and Crystal Skull, or even a complete wave of Temple figures?
Also seems to be a total lack of army builders I'm guessing because Hasbro is terrified of marketing Nazi and USSR soldiers to "kids".
I am not a "Hasbro Sucks" guy, but I wish that another manufacturer had the Indiana Jones license.
I think the figures look great, but the franchise doesn't fit into Hasbro's retail paradigm.
These are not going to sell in the amounts in which Hasbro will consider it a success.
But I could imagine Mezco putting out a Five Points XL set or two that would not only be awesome, but would be a sales success for a smaller company like Mezco.
I feel pretty safe in challenging that notion.
Hasbro has been making perfect likenesses in their figures for some time now -these are no exception.
