Pre-orders have been opened by Sideshow Collectibles for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Donatello 1/3 Scale Statue by Premium Collectibles Studio. The 24″ tall statue features Donny holding his bo staff, and standing on a diorama display base featuring defeated Mousers. A Deluxe Edition is also available, which includes a swap out portrait with Goggles, and a swap out hand holding throwing stars. The Regular Version is limited to 500 pieces, while the Deluxe Version is limited to 350 pieces.
The Donatello statue is priced at $1,205 for either the Regular Version or the Deluxe Version. It’s scheduled for release between September and November. See photos and details after the jump.

Is there some resurgence of mainstream interest in TMNT that I don't know about, that would drive so many recent releases? Back in the days when it was new, one of the reasons why I liked TMNT is because it was on the fringe.

My guess is that all the kids who loved that first movie are now in their 30s/40s+ and now have the money to buy these things. I still wish they'd do a continuation of the original movies instead of reboots... would love to see an old turtles or "middle aged" mutant ninja turtles movie lol

Yup. I had no idea that they were such a grail until about 10 years ago, when I learned that they needed special insurance and secure storage. I don't have many grails, but after decades of collecting, it's nice to have a few!
Dang good for you... sitting on a NICE retirement fund or nest egg or whatever. I've tended to sell any stuff like that in the past and have kicked myself over a few things.
