And with that, I’m now priced out of marvel legends comic figures. I’ll continue with the few preorders I have, otherwise I am only MCU from here on.

The idea that this is a $40 figure….which looks to be reused parts is a shocking statement from hasbro. I get the inflation, but damn. We are just plastic crack addicts and I’m checking into rehab.

It’s been a hell of a ride with the comic legends figures, and I have just about everyone I would ever want, save a few deep cut x-men.

Thank you to the marvel legends team, keep those mcu coming. I’m hoping they can fill in the holes there before those hit my limit.

To those that are still collecting, I hope more great figures keep coming and I’ll poke in to the marvel comic threads here and there to see the latest showings, but I’m getting off the bus here. May the bus go on forever.

These exclusives are priced higher but rarely does Hasbro give you any value on them or put any extra thought or effort into making them worth that higher price point. The Walgreens Sentry comes to mind. Dude came with gun gripping hands instead of flying hands.

In their defense, it matches the aesthetic of the Kirby artwork.

However, the lack of shading and washes makes them look cheaper.

I'm right there with ya. I was excited to get this Ronan. It looks good. Good but not great. Certainly not forty bucks great. My ML purchases are few and far between nowadays (I don't collect X-Men). If they are gonna charge 40 that shit needs to be pinnless. Or GTFO.

$40 for a new colossus figure ?! from the warlock wave. thought we wouldn't notice but we did. (that £20 one)

At least that blob figure was 100% new parts, but this Ronan the accuser isn't...

*sigh* looks like extremis iron-man might be my last marvel legends figure... we shall see. Though can see them re-using that figure for maybe an extremis war-machine.

Unless this guy goes on discount I won't bother.

They need to start giving us better paint apps

And Jim Starlin's Thanos that Legends released a couple of years ago was $30, looked much better than this piece of crap, and probably has more accessories too. Ronan is just gonna be smaller than Thanos and only come with that hammer right?

I wish I could upvote comments here like on TFW, because yeah.

This is not $40 worth of toy. I'm absolutely shocked at these prices now.

You shouldn't be. Hasbro has a lot of issues right now. Some of it is their fault, some of it isn't.

Of course the "Hasblo" crowd doesn't understand any of this.

    That's just not a $40 figure.

If it was $20, I'd say it could be a little better but I'd call it a must buy.
This is exactly where making it a two pack makes a helluva lot of sense.
Give me the illusion of more bang for my buck.

At $40 I expect to see SHF packaging. The figure with two additional heads and a crap ton of hands. Oh and with a plastic box.

This isn’t the only toy company that’s charging too much money for a figure. There’s another one from Boss Fight Studios that’s charging $35 for a tiny Popeye figure. I think that is way too much money for such a simple looking character, especially with very limited points of articulation. Not dissing Boss Fight Studios, I love the Popeye figure, but I ain’t spending over $25 for a simple action figure. They’re outta their minds!

At least with Boos Fight it's 'cuz it's a smaller production run, but this is Hasbro and Amazon, two of the largest companies in their respective fields!

One thing I will say in Boss Fights defence is that they are a much smaller company than Hasbro, production numbers won’t be anywhere near as big, and Popeye is a bit of a risk compared to anything Marvel. I picked up some of Boss Fights Bucky O’Hare figures, they were kind of pricey for the size, but they are great figures and chances are I’m never gonna get another chance to get a modern Bucky O’Hare figure line, so I bit.
