We here at Toyark are still getting back in the saddle after San Diego Comic Con 2022 but wanted to round up some McFarlane Toys news that slipped through last week.  Two pieces went up for pre-order at Walmart Collector Con, two new DC Multiverse (traditional comic look) figures were teased, and Todd McFarlane himself showed off the first Avatar movie figures.

Todd McFarlane showed off the first toys from Avatar Way of the Water in person at SDCC (video). Three different Banshees were shown, including two really big collector pieces. We’ve attached some pics after the break as well.

I really dislike like DCs Men In Underwear designs (which is most of DCs classic stuff) but these (Booster Gold and Blue Beetle Comic versions) look great..uggh..my wallet.

Apparently that was dictated by DC, not mcFarlane.

Is this a 2-pack? That Blue Beetle is just about perfect.

oh really, I always though it was Mcfarlane's idea to make 7-inch Figure.

I would've guessed it was McFarlane's decision too simply because they've just always focused on 7" scale, they're the ones who codified it as the scale for adult collector lines back in the staction figure days. I'm skeptical that DC had anything to do with it because nearly all of McFarlane's modern offerings (since Color Tops) have been 7" and there's no way DC had any impact on those.

I agree, it's McFarlane running the show, and its kinda his thing to do this, I think DC would have been okay with a 1/12 line since they done it before, but like I said McFarlane is running the whole thing (for figures, not all of DC, although that would be something)

I'm just going based on what Todd said in some interview recently.

I believe he said when he first got the license that DC broke the license up between he and Spin Master according to size, 6" & under and over 6". Also, they are both allowed to do 12" and over, but can't compete directly price wise. Th only ones I'm confused on is the Batman '66 line, but maybe that is allowed because it's a store exclusive.

Hey look, McFarlane CAN actually make characters wearing tights without overcomplicating the sculpt with raised details.

That's the stand. McFarlane gives all his double pack figs a sculpted stand.

Green Lantern and Blue Beetle look awesome.
It's a mostly complete set. Just missing some standard accessories(hands) but it's the most consumer friendly two pack the company has done so far in the line.

Parallax and Azrael need to be announced at nice time at the same time so I can have a chance to preorder. Walmarts in my city have only ever sold the Three Jokers Batman(just him) in stores. I have never seen a Walmart exclusive in person.

I’m surprised neither have clear lenses since even Mattel did that.

These look bad. Beetle is too 'hench'. Booster has a weird face and bad costume break up. This costume should be metallic/gold not yellow. They both have solid visors on toys but transparent ones on the cards. No alternate hands. Why is Skeets attached to an arm? Bring back the icons figures please.
