Final Fantasy 7 Pre-Orders – Cloud Strife Bring Arts, and Cloud in Dress Play Arts Kai

Posted on July 22, 2022 at 8:06 am by Joe Moore under Video Game Toy News

z FF7 Cloud Figures

Pre-orders are live for two upcoming Final Fantasy VII figures from Square Enix. Included is a Cloud Strife 6″ Scale Bring Arts Figure, and a Cloud Strife in Dress 10″ Scale Play Arts Kai Figure from Final Fantasy VII: Remake. The Bring Arts Cloud figure includes a piece of digital garbage, also known as an NFT, but digital garbage is much more appropriate. See details and pre-order links below, and new photos after the jump.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE™ PLAY ARTS KAI™ Action Figure CLOUD STRIFE DRESS Ver.

Cloud, wearing one of the dresses from the unforgettable Wall Market section of “FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE”, joins the PLAY ARTS KAI figure line!

While retaining Cloud’s stoic demeanor, the figure nails Cloud’s makeup, hair ornament, and pigtails. Every fine detail has particular attention paid to it; from the texture of the ruffles on the sleeves and collar, to the accessories, ribbons, and skirt folds. Accessories include a swappable head part with a different expression, as well as several swappable hand parts. Swapping the hand parts allows you to clasp Cloud’s hands together in front of his waist, recreating the pose from the game.

Figure includes display stand

Figure Size: W 4.49″ x D 3.50″ x H 10.87″

Release Date: July 2023

FINAL FANTASY VII BRING ARTS™ Action Figure – CLOUD STRIFE

The original designs of the beloved classic, FINAL FANTASY VII, are now joining the BRING ARTS Action Figure series, starting with the game’s iconic protagonist, Cloud Strife! Cloud’s signature hairstyle, shoulder armor, and SOLDIER uniform are all faithfully recreated in 3D to instill a sense of nostalgia of his look in the original title.

From Cloud’s facial expression to the wrinkles and textures of his clothes, every inch of this figure has been meticulously detailed. The figure comes with a variety of interchangeable hands and Cloud’s iconic weapon, the Buster Sword, which can be held in his hands or worn on his back. Figure includes display stand.

Figure Size (inches): W 2.24” x D 1.06” x H 5.98”
Point of articulation: 24 points

Release:  November 2023

On one hand - nice that they're finally bringing FFVII to the 1/12 scale. And I really like that the look is based on the classic game, not the remake.

But then - the price is highway robbery. Like, almost twice the price of a Figuart? Hell no.

And it's so barebones too - I could live with only a few hands and the sword if it at least came with alternate faces / heads - the blank stare works for standing still but as soon as you put the figure in action poses it looks weird.

Lastly, I have heard they packing a freakin’ NFT into this. “Digital certificate of authenticity in a blockchain”-kinda bullshit. Stop it with that dumb crap and include worthwhile accessories instead.

Yeah if this was in the 460-$80 range I'd be interested but not at $100+ and the NFT thing is ridiculous. You can't even transfer it if you sell the figure, so it's literally useless.

I like the Bring Arts but hate the prices for what you get.

That said, how many times are they going to make 1/12 FF7 figures, especially based on the classic designs? For that, I suppose I'll pay the price just for that specific collection.

But you own it! The thing! That is... in a blockchain! And it will be yours, only yours! What can you do with it... eh... it's yours!

And that's exactly how they get people to pay these prices. I don’t condemn your decision, far from it, I hope you enjoy owning this.

But Square knows of their position on the market, hence why they can charge whatever they please.

Neat idea to make FFVII Bring Arts, but that is far too expensive for bare bones accessories. I was expecting different swords for him at least. I have no clue what the NFT would entail for this figure.

The FFIX Bring Arts had a good assortment of pack ins for their price point. Even the recent Tactics Bring Arts figures, bare bones as they may be, are fairly priced at around $60.

This is probably a pass for me. Might consider on sale. I own the Play Arts Cloud with the Hardy Daytona, which is a fine substitute and didn't cost nearly as much.

It's amazing at the high price and bare bones for this when I'm looking at my Nier Automata 2B that came with a crap ton of accessories and even a robot.

I feel like they are overcharging on FF stuff because they can. No way IX figures should have been those insanely expensive 2 packs. I couldn't even get all the DQ ones because the price is just ridiculous, same with the Mana ones.

Play Arts is beyond ridiculous for the prices now. Over near or $200 for these things. Who the hell is paying almost $500 for two figures an a bike? The damn older Play Arts Cloud and Bike cost like $60.

I feel like starting a brand off at a reasonable price and then jacking up the price is something Square Enix consistently does. I remember liking my $40 Big Boss and Ichigo Kurosaki Play Arts Kai figures, then suddenly PAK was a $80-100 line with hands down some of the worst QC I've ever seen. I swore them off until the NiER Bring Arts came out, which were great for their price, but here we are again. The NFT is a comically terrible addition as well.

I've never even played the games and I know about the dress; the remake went full "now ain't that a cute boy" and successfully made a lot of insecure people uncomfortable with the femboy hawtness

You may get lucky and no one will bother, but just in case someone posts images, run. Or stay if you're interested, I don't judge.
