Pre-orders are live for two upcoming Final Fantasy VII figures from Square Enix. Included is a Cloud Strife 6″ Scale Bring Arts Figure, and a Cloud Strife in Dress 10″ Scale Play Arts Kai Figure from Final Fantasy VII: Remake. The Bring Arts Cloud figure includes a piece of digital garbage, also known as an NFT, but digital garbage is much more appropriate. See details and pre-order links below, and new photos after the jump.
FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE™ PLAY ARTS KAI™ Action Figure CLOUD STRIFE DRESS Ver.
Cloud, wearing one of the dresses from the unforgettable Wall Market section of “FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE”, joins the PLAY ARTS KAI figure line!
While retaining Cloud’s stoic demeanor, the figure nails Cloud’s makeup, hair ornament, and pigtails. Every fine detail has particular attention paid to it; from the texture of the ruffles on the sleeves and collar, to the accessories, ribbons, and skirt folds. Accessories include a swappable head part with a different expression, as well as several swappable hand parts. Swapping the hand parts allows you to clasp Cloud’s hands together in front of his waist, recreating the pose from the game.

Final Fantasy 7 Pre-Orders - Cloud Strife Bring Arts, and Cloud in Dress Play Arts Kai

Ahhhhhh....
Nuff Said ;^)
On one hand - nice that they're finally bringing FFVII to the 1/12 scale. And I really like that the look is based on the classic game, not the remake.
But then - the price is highway robbery. Like, almost twice the price of a Figuart? Hell no.
And it's so barebones too - I could live with only a few hands and the sword if it at least came with alternate faces / heads - the blank stare works for standing still but as soon as you put the figure in action poses it looks weird.
Lastly, I have heard they packing a freakin’ NFT into this. “Digital certificate of authenticity in a blockchain”-kinda bullshit. Stop it with that dumb crap and include worthwhile accessories instead.

I like the Bring Arts but hate the prices for what you get.
That said, how many times are they going to make 1/12 FF7 figures, especially based on the classic designs? For that, I suppose I'll pay the price just for that specific collection.
But Square knows of their position on the market, hence why they can charge whatever they please.
Neat idea to make FFVII Bring Arts, but that is far too expensive for bare bones accessories. I was expecting different swords for him at least. I have no clue what the NFT would entail for this figure.
The FFIX Bring Arts had a good assortment of pack ins for their price point. Even the recent Tactics Bring Arts figures, bare bones as they may be, are fairly priced at around $60.
This is probably a pass for me. Might consider on sale. I own the Play Arts Cloud with the Hardy Daytona, which is a fine substitute and didn't cost nearly as much.

I feel like they are overcharging on FF stuff because they can. No way IX figures should have been those insanely expensive 2 packs. I couldn't even get all the DQ ones because the price is just ridiculous, same with the Mana ones.
Play Arts is beyond ridiculous for the prices now. Over near or $200 for these things. Who the hell is paying almost $500 for two figures an a bike? The damn older Play Arts Cloud and Bike cost like $60.
I feel like starting a brand off at a reasonable price and then jacking up the price is something Square Enix consistently does. I remember liking my $40 Big Boss and Ichigo Kurosaki Play Arts Kai figures, then suddenly PAK was a $80-100 line with hands down some of the worst QC I've ever seen. I swore them off until the NiER Bring Arts came out, which were great for their price, but here we are again. The NFT is a comically terrible addition as well.
LOL Since when did cloud wear a dress, is that even canon?
dang didn't know Square Enix did femboy stuff
Cloud was not the first, he was not the last.
thanks for the heads up, don't worry if I see anyone posting femboys imma head out
