Last week, we were able to share an exclusive look at The Rocketeer, one of the new figures coming to the retro-inspired Longbox Heroes Collection from Fresh Monkey Fiction and ToyOtter. The new figure line stands at 4.5″ tall, with each figure having about 7 points of articulation. The full assortment is now up for pre-order as Big Bad Toy Store Exclusives. The lineup includes characters from The Rocketeer, The Tick, Hack/Slash, and more!
Independent toy makers take on independent comic book icons! The LongBox Heroes Collection™ is the toy line that fans have been waiting for and features a selection of action figures based on some of the biggest names in creator-owned comic books heroes (and villains).
These brand new 5-inch retro-styled action figures have been meticulously created to have the look and feel of arguably the most popular form factor of classic superhero action figures of the 1980’s, along with all the playable articulation fans expect and deserve. Each figure is packaged on a blister card featuring classic artwork of your favorite character.
The Longbox Heroes Collection is a collaboration with Fresh Monkey Fiction and designer/sculptor ToyOtter Toys and exclusively offered through BigBadToyStore.
The individual figures are priced at $24.99 each. BBTS is also offering a 3-pack of the characters from The Rocketeer, and a 7-pack of the other characters. These are expected to ship out between the Summer and Fall of 2023. Check out some photos after the jump. You can pre-order now directly from Big Bad Toy Store.

I really want the Rocketeer figure along with the Nazi trooper and the Nazi Rocketeer. Plus love the Tick and Grendel.
While I'm glad to see some independent comic characters finally get some new action figures (as far as I know, this is the first action figure of Cassie Hack ever... there was the Femmes Fatales PVC statue, but that's it as far as I know), I've to admit this retro format (this seems to be the new golden cow for companies) doesn't really excite me, especially at this price. I fondly remember Toybiz' Legendary Comic Book Heroes. A similar update at a reasonable price (and not 80+ euro like that Bloodshot fig) would have really gotten me excited. In this case I'll pass, as this is not my cup of tea and seems like easy, lazy money grabbing to me. :s
Spoon!
Don't get me wrong about nostalgia. I'm all about nostalgia and as a big GI Joe fan and collector (both vintage and modern) I love every new classic O-ring and 3.75/4 inch size project. I just don't get these 5 points of articulation style figs (admitted, a little more here, but you get my point). The only figures of that style I ever really liked where the classic Action Force ones from Palitoy, especially the Red Shadows. But nostalgia or no nostalgia, these days I simply see no reason anymore to make that style of figure... unless it's to cut down on costs and overprice them as seems to be the case here... personal opinion of course. :s

I did order a few of these. Pricey but unique.
I really want a couple of these but will be moving at least once between order and release; does BBTS handle address changes well, like, will they confirm an address for a preorder before sending it?
Pretty Cool...
Wish they weren't 4.5/5 figs...
7" would be nice for me...
However....
I'll get a "Rocket Man" ;^)
