Hasbro Marvel Legends Retro Carded Apocalypse, preorders go up tomorrow at 1 PM EST.
So much for plastic free packaging from hasbro. I don't get this. They take away the window saying they want to protect the environment but then continue to do these?????
It also breaks continuity with the other animated figures.

Also while the color on this figure does match up with the animated look, nowhere does it say this is meant to be the "animated" version of the character. Also I'm sure they want the VHS packages to stay relatively the same sizes to each other and this would have come in an oversized VHS case.
Frankly I can't wait to get 2 of these, as I had the original Apocalypse carded figure and this hits all my nostalgia points.
Wow, really nice figure! Great accessories, too!
Anyway, I think the new body and face looks fantastic. Not to mention the gun accessory with the effects. I kind of want him, I just don't know if I want him in those colors. I'll probably at least preorder him just in case though.
love this figure, must buy for me
I am the rocks on the shores of eternity, crash against me and be broken!
Must get for me.

Another case of Hasbro not doing a google search first. The packaging looks about what the original Apocalypse releases looked like. The coloring of the figure is not. It's odd to do a "retro" figure in animated colors when you're in the midst of doing animated figures that also have cell shading. Hasbro never makes any damn sense. Face sculpt and arm cannon look good though.
He doesn't match Toy Biz colors yet he lacks TAS cell shading.

WTH? He looked like this in exactly ZERO comic appearances.

Considering what I paid for the BAF a year or so back, I'm somewhat relieved that I don't care for this. Good for those that do, though.
It's the animated series look. It's for the people who wanted the design the 90's show. End of story.
Hasbro did the research, it's the Fox Kids animated series look(more or less). It's not part of the VHS line, it's like the Spider-man Retro wave figures where a lot of them share the look from the show.
So he's on a retro card, which is a line that 9 out 10 times is also animation inspired.
Why did he have those big long hoses on each arm?
They can make bigger boxes. He'd fit in most of the bigger Transformer boxes. But I'm assuming they wanted Apocalypse for a mass release(only assuming because we knew this was coming which doesn't happen so often with Pulse exclusives) and not just on pulse. So cheaper to release a normal version.
It was the 90's. Adding hoses to gauntlets I think came from all those 80's sci fi films. I think to imply his suit is augmenting his physical strength.
It's a good looking Apocalypse, but it doesn’t quite reach the original BAF in terms of overall aesthetics to me, that one looked incredible.
I wish they would give that release another spin someday, maybe with slightly different colors and accessories.

What is the size of figure and what is it going to cost?
Can anyone tell if the head would color match the BAF decently? Like many here I guess, I never completed the BAF due to how ridiculously expensive Gladiator is. I'd be okay having both versions, especially if the head does a decent match.
No one can really answer that question until they physically have it in hand.
Of course since Apoc's neck is barely visible, his colors don't really matter.
