Ah, ace, I want the She-Ra, Hordak, Catra and Zodac Masterverse figures. Kinda confused about the categories though. I figured the first three were She-Ra, not New Eternia. Zodac is New Eternia for sure. As for the weird CGI stuff, nah not my thing at all. Fine for the fans who want some actual good figures of those designs but they don't blend in with the rest of Masterverse at all in my opinion.

What is "Skeletor Reborn (Netflix)" under Masterverse? I clicked on the BBTS link and that listing doesn't say Masterverse and it's also way too low in cost to be a Masterverse figure. The listing says "He-Man and The Masters of the Universe Skeletor Reborn Deluxe Figure" definitely too cheap to be a Deluxe Masterverse. So I assume it's a figure in the CGI show's own toyline?

They moved the release date for many of these (particularly the Masterverse figures) from June 2022 to Q3 2022 this morning.

I'm guessing the June date was a mistake.

I don't understand the $30+ price tag on some of those(at BBTS).

It's not BBTS's markup. Mattel is calling She-Ra and Hordak deluxe New Eternia figures and just charging more. I thought NE Skeletor and NE He-Man were too good to be true and I guess Mattel realized they can charge $10 for an extra head and hands just like everyone else does (Hasbro and Star Wars in particular).

My supervillain origin story is Mattel not making God-Lyn.
I wish they'd make some She-Ra figures based on the Netflix reboot too.

If they make God-Lyn before they make Classic Evil-Lyn, I will be a bit annoyed.

I'm not sure what all to hope for from this line. I'm glad to get a real She-Ra (the MOTUC versions are hit and miss and the Super7 version was a major letdown), but I'm not sure these figures, over all, are even close to as well made or cool as my Classics collection.

PO'd the New Eternia and PoP Masterverse figures. I will likely get another Zodac and Hordak if seen in the wild for display purposes. I feel like with the New Eternia line I will just be double dipping on everything.

Scored a cheap Viking He-Man and Barb Skeletor off Amazon, just waiting for BBTS to get the whole of Wave 4 in.

Anyone else hoping they do some figs based on the 2002 series? Some of those character designs were pretty cool. Also, can someone please fill me in on what exactly the ‘new Eternia’ figures are based on?

Prior to She-Ra and Hordak being in the NE line, we were told New Eternia figures were going to be concept figures from MOTU's history. That's why NE He-Man and Skeletor are based on early concept art.

I have no idea how Filmation She-Ra and Toy Hordak in Filmation colors fit into that concept.

This is why I’m a little confused, I assumed it was some sort of concept line considering the Barbarian He-Man and Skeletor, but She-Ra and Hordak look like they are straight from the 80’s cartoon.

    The listing is wrong.

Hordak and She-Ra are NOT New Eternia, but are Princess of Power figures as confirmed by the logo on their boxes.

Btw the Skeletor Reborn figure is def NOT a Masterverse figure. I had the picture of it but I lost it but aye, in case any masterverse collectors still wondered what it was, it's just from the CGI toon toyline and not like the CGI toon's two Masterverse figures.

God-Lyn's high on my wishlist lol Partly for myself and partly because my partner loves her and she misses feeling that strong. She was a personal trainer and bit of a gym addict before she got long covid back in 2020 and she has likely permanent damage from it and even nearly 2 years since she got it, she's struggling to walk far or use stairs. We can't even live together at present because our two storey flat is a bit too high and with no lift, so she lives in a downstairs room of her mum's house that's been made into a bedroom. We're still trying to find a suitable place for the both of us to live together again but aye, it ain't easy. At least her mum's ain't too far from me and we still see each other loads and our kid spends nights at both, knowing that it's not like we separated in relationship, just living arrangements for time being. Anyways aye, I introduced my partner to Revelation a couple months ago after me and the kid loved it, and she loves it too and 'God-Lyn is goals' according to her and made a joke about wishing she could call down the power of grayskull and restore her strength and that kinda broke my heart a bit. Anyways I super want the God-Lyn figure for her if Mattel get around to it.

I think they're definitely better made and more bang for your buck than MotUC was. Plus way more available and cheaper to customise figures to your own versions if you like. And pretty sturdy too since they're aimed at all ages in stores whereas classics were aimed at adult collectors with that whole subscription bollocks and such. I know my best mate is still gutted that Super 7's ThunderCats have been made using the MotUC buck style as he finds it far too limited and aesthetically displeasing in certain areas lol. Also his Lion-O has multiple QC issues and he hasn't had much luck getting that sorted with Super 7 whereas Mattel quite happily refunded him the full amount for a Masterverse Savage He-Man and Orko set just because there was a small tear in one of Orko's shoulders. So basically he got that whole set for free. Ace!

Thanks guys. Aye, we're still hoping she'll fully recover someday but we're also by now kinda used to the fact that is just how things may be from now on. We're on the look out for an affordable bungalow (I don't know if that's a word familiar to US folk but basically a house with just the one floor, no stairs) in a suitable location. She's awesome and upbeat but aye there are those times you can see she clearly misses how active she used to be. She loved to go running or lift some weights or whatever. It was her outlet for when she felt down or stressed so to have that not really viable these days, she's been struggling to find something else to replace it. She still does some of those physical activities of course but they're in very short lil bursts. But aye thanks again.

And aye let's see some more MotU.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. MOTUC figures were $20-$25 during Mattel's run, so you get about the same bang for your buck. Masterverse figures are easier to get, sort of, in the sense they don't sell out fast the one morning they are put up for sale.

But Classics figures (the Mattel versions, not necessarily the later run by Super7) are definitely better made. Some of it is that they have less articulation so less potential spots for QA issues. The Masterverse Classic Teela is a mess (that weird joint in the upper thigh doesn't connect quite right, I think because of how they pose her in the package). The joints on my NE Skeletor and Teela aren't the tightest compared to my Classics versions (and the latter are really old at this point).

Masterverse figures are cool. I'm in for figures like She-Ra, Hordak, and Catra. I want a Classic-looking Evil-Lyn. I will probably buy the big Beast Man. But Classics figures are better over all, despite having slightly less articulation.

But aye, that was kinda my point. MotUC were far more limited and sub based and sold out quick and so became way more expensive to purchase. The recent Super 7 versions weren't much better being at a default price of about £50 here when Masterverse regular figures are £20 to £25 and Deluxes are £30 to £35.

Dunno about that. Some were well made but several MotUC figures were known to be fragile. Green Goddess was so notorious because of her transparent plastic breaking into bits, that many just sought out a second Teela to paint green and use instead. lol. Sorceress's bizarre wing contraption often broke too.

    Quote:

Might be issue with your Teela, maybe. Most have been fine. Give Mattel a call if your figure's issue bothers you enough. Their customer service has been top-notch and if they can't replace the figure they've often provided full refunds and let you keep the 'faulty' figure anyway. Well for my friend anyways. Even though he's here in the UK and Mattel are over in the US they've paid him full refunds on two Deluxe Masterverse sets (Rev Savage He-man with Orko and the Faker) while letting him keep those and they've apparently helped him out with Mega Construx issues too. So aye, he says they're ace. And way better than Super 7. lol

    Quote:

I think that's matter of opinion. I (and especially my best mate still annoyed about the Thundercats usage of the motuc style, for the torso shape, the visible pin holes, the QC issues and the dated articulation) really dislike the body and aesthetics and head sculpts of many of the MotUC figures. I think the only thing we agreed on liking about that line is how deep it went. They did almost EVERYBODY. lol.

Not saying Masterverse is perfect. Far from it. And I've bought a couple of custom heads for ones I didn't like the heads of (mainly the oddly smiley He-Man and dirty Skeletor lol) But we're having a whole lot more fun with it than trying to chase down expensive MotUC figures that we don't particularly like the style of anyway lol. And it's so far the only toyline my kid and I have both enjoyed and long may it continue. Well at least as far as the point where he reaches the teenage years where he feels he has to be all cool and such and toys are just for kids and then I'll be stuck collecting them on my own for a long time lol I got him another He-Man in clearance the other day so he can have a go at customising it cos he's getting a bit into that lately too.

Everything is a matter of opinion.

But anyone who has a MOTUC Mer-Man in one hand and a Masterverse Revelations Mer-Man in the other and says "this Masterverse figure is of better quality" is a little odd in my opinion. Classics figures (on the whole; Green Goddess, Roboto, and a few others excepted) seem like they are of a higher quality plastic and are better made. I consider Masterverse figures to be like Hasbro Fornite figures compared to G.I. Joe Classified. You can just tell when there is more QA and better plastic being used.

I'm happy to have Masterverse going and I look forward to more NE and 80s-style designs (and less, small headed Revelations-type looks). But I won't be selling my Classics collection any time soon.

Oh hey now you don't gotta be dragging Masterverse with a Fortnite comparison. lol. But aye, you like your Classics that's fine. They still seem to us more like a display thing rather than a play thing and it's been fun playing with Masterverse with my kid. Weirdly I did start his MotU collecting by getting him a couple of Origins from the first couple of waves and he played with those a while but then I treated myself to a few Masterverse and he got all snippy and saying he liked them more for several reasons including "they are tall" and "more bendy" than the Origins figures he tossed aside. And also because these ones are from the cartoon he actually enjoys. Which was probably not all that suitable for a kid of his age in places but aye, I don't think it corrupted him in any way. lol. We also watched some of the original show I grew up with and aye I have to agree with him that is sure is goofy, lol. He still had fun with it but he said it's like a "baby's show" in places with the lack of actual sword fighting and the morals at the end (which he did think was nice if a little patronising). Also he kept waiting for Orko to do 'something cool' like his Revelation counterpart and I had to explain that ok well Filmation has his own lil moments of coolness now and then but aye, don't expect any awesomeness from the lil fella.

Jeez, can you tell I'm missing my kid a bit? It's half term so he's off at his nan's. lol

Anyways enjoy your MotU in whatever form it may be!

Masterverse is just killing it with the next several waves. I just hope that they can get to shelves since walmarts seem to never stock them around here and targets are now aglut with u wanted andras instead of heman and skeletor.

for god's sake send those Andra's over here to the UK. We still need a lot of them cos she and Fisto are extremely scarce (the other wave 4 chaps Stinkor and Scare Glow are way easier to find). And people want TWO of her to give the extra cloak and mask to Merc Teela too so can recreate the scenes with Stinkor. lol.

See we had the reverse issue here where stinkor fisto and scareglow were the ones everyone wanted haha.i bought a second andra to remake her as if she hadnt been race changed and use regular andra as a new character. also if ya need some cloaks i used the cloth green one from a lord of rings figure. I think it was an aragorn fig, plus i gave teela the classic emma frost head that came with the walgreens exclusive emma frost fig.
