Boss Fight Studio are sharing out reveals and info this week for the would-be Toy Fair season. Yesterday kicked things off with the announcement of a new line based on the independent comic book La Borinqueña. The figures will be 1/12 scale, a departure from their regular H.A.C.K.S. and 1/18 offerings. Figures look sharp with pinless articulation and all major cuts after that. The first one will be the book’s hero La Borinqueña with villains La Gargola, Oro El Coqui Dorado and hero Luz coming later. Read on to check some promo pics and check the overall comic description below.
La Borinqueña is an original character and patriotic symbol presented in a classic superhero story created and written by graphic novelist Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez. Her powers are drawn from history and mysticism found on the island of Puerto Rico. The fictional character, Marisol Rios De La Luz, is a Columbia University Earth and Environmental Sciences Undergraduate student living with her parents in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. She takes a semester of study abroad in collaboration with the University of Puerto Rico. There she explores the caves of Puerto Rico and finds five similar sized crystals. Atabex, the Taino mother goddess, appears before Marisol once the crystals are united and summons her sons Yúcahu, spirt of the seas and mountains and Juracan, spirit of the hurricanes. They give Marisol superhuman strength, the power of flight, and control of the storms.
NORWOOD, Mass., Feb. 17, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Boss Fight Studio, creator of fan favorite action figures, announced today they acquired the license to make La Borinqueña action figures. The deal, brokered by Fan Girl Consulting, is the latest addition to a diverse array of iconic brands.
Boss Fight Studio is known for their highly articulated action figures, as well as for bringing diversity into the action figure space. “From the moment we read the La Borinqueña comic books, we were taken by the female power, the diversity, and the wonderful storytelling – it seemed like such a natural fit for us. Being able to translate these super powerful characters into articulated figures is a dream,” says Erik Arana, Partner and Art Director at Boss Fight Studio.
“La Borinqueña and my other characters are celebrated by fans internationally for our stories, activism, and philanthropy that, I wanted to find a partner that would help bring them to life in incredibly designed action figures,” says Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez, creator of La Borinqueña. “Boss Fight Studio was the ideal partner with their innovative approach to articulated figures. The designs look like they jumped off the page of our comics and came to life. Collectors and children will rejoice in creating their own adventures with this new line whether they’re in Puerto Rico or Brooklyn, NY!”
Kicking off with 1:12 scale figures, the characters initially announced include La Borinqueña, Luz, Oro El Coqui Dorado, and La Gargola. Images for the figures were released today as well. “We have so many plans for this license – the characters are naturally toyetic and we can’t wait to show them off!” says Arana.

Looks like they will have a chunk over next few days.
New 1/12 Figures from Boss Fight Studio for La Borinqueña
These are pretty cool. I look forward to the rest of the reveals.
These are pretty cool. Only critique are the ankles/kankles... "yikes"
Aw, these would have been great to scale with their HACKS
Wow, very cool that they are expanding into different film incarnations of Zorro. I really wish the Mask of Zorro figures were in 6" scale. Guess they couldn't or didn't want to do an Anthony Hopkins Zorro to go with them. The Catherine Zeta Jones figure looks great but that Antonio Banderas headsculpt looks way off.
Zorro the gay blade is fantastic. Must watch.
Man, ...that 11th Phantom and the Singh Pirate(s) look Great to me.!!
I'm into ... at least ...two of each..!!
BFS did a GREAT job with their first release of Zorro...!!
What great figures they were.!!
If The Phantom figures are made as well, ... I'll be very happy.!!
I love the Hero H.A.C.K.S. Line.!!
The new Tarzan's head looks like a definite improvement over the first one's.
Also, yay Mask of Zorro figures!
I was really hoping for some Bucky O'Hare announcements. But I think they're probably done with that line now.
Is it too much to ask for a Tarzan who doesn't look bored?
some of these court of the dead figures are very nice
I can see adding some to my fantasy HACKs collection

Boss Fight Studio Popeye Classics Toy Fair 2022 Update
Might have to get Poopdeck Pappy on name alone.
These are dope.
Interesting for sure....
Need to "see" of course ;^)
Interesting new line!
Would be nice if they did a small budget cartoon series on YouTube to sell these really nice looking figs.
Sold on the Dino’s! Total dinosaucers vibes!
Boss Fight is doing more interesting stuff than I thought they would. The Dino stuff is super cool.
I'll repeat this is all cool... but at some point, they need to stop revealing and produce. I have said before, and I stand by it, *really* hard to get excited for anything they show off when I am waiting for stuff I ordered summer of 2019...
Warrior Dinosaurs and not a T-Rex or Raptor on their first wave. Gutsy. That's like releasing a Marvel wave without a Wolverine or DC wave without a Batman.
Nice reveals by BFS and really looking forward to the Phantom and Singh figures, this is more in line to what I associate the Phantom with and anytime I can add more to my pirate related collection the better.
