A fantastic piece of news today with word that McFarlane Toys will be continuing the DC Direct / Collectibles Batman Animated series. These were 6 inch scale figures of the various Animated shows done up in their unique design style. It had a long run (see some galleries here) and there were several in mid-production when DC Direct shut down abruptly in 2020. McFarlane Toys have been getting those in-production items out to market, including some Essentials 6.75 inch scale figures, statues and now these.
The figures revealed were from Batman The Adventures Continue (BTAC) which extended that universe in comic form featuring new characters. They include Batman in a cell shaded deco, Catwoman also in cell shaded deco, and The Batman Who Laughs. Batman and Catwoman were repaints of previous toys similar to the later releases of Robin and Joker.
There were more in production not revealed today – Thomas Wayne Batman, Tim Drake Robin, Talon, BTAC Batgirl, Vampire Batman – hopefully we get those too. Whether the line will continue beyond what was in production already is unknown right now.
All three are available for pre-order now, check our sponsors below to grab your copies. Read on for full details.

DC Direct Batman Animated Line Continues via McFarlane Toys
I'm holding out hope this will lead to some reissues! I missed a few crucial characters and it stings.
Not very fan of these shadows on Catwoman / Batman
Ah ha cheers McFarlane Toys. I'm actually pretty pleased about this.
Kind of odd for them to do an animated Batman Who Laughs. Its cool, but he isn't from the Diniverse and I'd imagine there are other animated figures people would want.
Finally! Preordered and now complete….well quite a few more I’d want in that scale/style.

Glad to see these finally coming out! Really hoping they continue the line with more BTAS/TNBA figures
Of course he does more Batman related stuff.
However, I don't remember the Babadook being in BTAS.

There was also a "carbonized" version of the Christmas Joker that was supposed to come out back when DC Direct still had control. I had that figure preordered along with these 3 from today and Vampire Batman. I had never heard about those others in that list, so I don't know where that info came from. Not sure why they're cel-shading the Catwoman. It was originally marketed as maskless Catwoman. Both her head and Batman Who Laughs heads appear to have been resculpted from the original pics of them from years ago or at least I think they are. I could be wrong. Regardless, glad to see these actually coming out.
They were cel-shaded back in 2020.

This is the best news I have heard in weeks! I saw the preorders today on BBTS and could barely believe it. Here is hoping they re-release Reneé Montoya, Alfred, TAS Scarecrow and Two-Face, and those scalpers asking 250$ for those will disappear...
It still bugs me that they never did much with the Superman: Animated Series aside from a Superman/Lois 2-pack. I was hoping they'd switch gears after doing so many BTAS themed figures and give us some of the rogues from STAS too. Particularly Lex Luthor, Metallo, Brainiac, Parasite, Darkseid and his minions, etc.
Agreed, I always imagined what this line could have been like had they expanded it, a deluxe Darkseid, deluxe Toyman with giant rubber duck, a Mala and Jax-Ur 2 pack, Lobo, so many great character designs, a shame they never continued with it
