That's cool and all but what is taking so damn long with getting Black Series Fennec Shand up for pre-order on Amazon Gamestop etc. She was announced Dec 7th 2021 and still nothing on the main sites

It's a Target exclusive and it apparently went up and sold out within seconds on Target.com just now. Guess the bots got them all. This is ridiculous.

Here's the link by the way...

    https://www.target.com/p/-/A-85766838

I'm hoping it was just an error with it having the preorder link then immediately going to "Sold out/coming soon" and maybe it will be back up within the hour.

I sure hope the "4 entertainment-inspired accessories" help take the sting out of that price point. And what's with that portrait? Should his pre-bacta face be messed up as seen in The Mandalorian?

He looks way too young. Like if they put this head on RotJ Boba Fett, that'd be great.

I managed to pre-order it but I think there'll be a head swap in his future.

Ignoring the accessories and focusing on the figures, the one you linked to is his Book of Boba Fett outfit while this is his Mandalorian season 2 final outfit. The key difference is that in Book of Boba Fett he is wearing more standard pants with a back-skirt/belt-cape while in the Mandalorian he is still wearing his Tusken robes under the armor so the legs are notably more billowy. In BoBF he wears his knee pads as knee pads while in Mando S2 he wears them as boot-toppers. There are also some minor color differences like in BoBF he added blue accents to his jetpack.

Not feeling the 'new look' at all, and I bet most fans feel the same way. This just looks goofy.

I still kinda miss when we didn't know what he looked like under the helmet. No disrespect meant towards Temuera Morrison but Boba just seemed cooler to me when we didn't know anything about him. Ok cooler up to the point he got slapped down into the Sarlacc pit like an idiot but aye now that death got undone anyway. Well. The actual silly event itself still occured but he got better lol. Anywho the figure looks ok. This outfit still looks to me like the top half and bottom half don't mesh all that cohesively but it is what it is. Not for me but I'm only a very casual star wars fan these days lol

Back before AotC he definitely had the "cool" factor of being enigmatic but it came with the price of him not really being a character just a cool set of armor. Now when AotC did give Boba Fett a background I always thought it was rather disappointing that he was just a clone of some guy we'd never heard of before, but I guess nothing could've lived up to fans' collective imaginations after two decades. It was all sort of irrelevant though since he still went out like a punk in RotJ (I was always kept the old EU at arm's length so his survival there never held much weight with me). Speaking for myself I've so far liked how these shows have brought him back, he's less "cool" but now I find a more whole character to like instead.

As for how he looks, I actually like this outfit. It does, as you said, lack complete uniformity but I always felt similarly about his RotJ redesign. I like that it keeps the Tusken robes since they were an important part of his survival and life after the sarlacc and then of course the iconic armor is placed over it. Tastes will differ but I like that it's another instance in Star Wars of a character's attire conveying story elements.

I'm with En Sabah Nerd on this one.

What I noticed about the topic of "He isn't cool anymore" is that some people always prefered Boba Fett not having backstory so they could imagine being the bounty hunter inside the helmet and invent all kinds of stories in their own heads.

And now that we see a Boba Fett outside of his armor and struggling on screen it clashes with the image the very same people had inside their head all this time and they get irritated by that.

Which I can understand but not relate to. I personally never had an issue with the clone origin, I am very thankful that it brought Morrison to the table and now give him the opportunity to return as Boba Fett. He plays the part perfectly IMO, and I like the way they develop his character after the fall into the Sarlacc.

I really enjoyed seeing how they explained his new look and why he kept the black robes even after getting the armor back. That made for a fun rewatch of the Mando episode. So all in all I'm more happy that Boba is a more fleshed out character and less of an "unbeatable badass" now.

What I do get is, yeah, Boba isn't doing much cool Boba Fett stuff right now. But there's 2 episodes of the show left, there is war on the horizon, he has a new pet to ride into battle with - I think we will get our fair share of Fett action soon enough.

Aye fair enough both of you. I don't know. Though I never imagined myself being Boba, I was always disappointed that he was just a guy inside the armour. Not just that he was a clone. I never really wanted to see kid Boba, hell I never wanted to see kid Vader either come to think of it. lol. Before we got the Boba backstory I'd kinda assumed he was some sort of creepy alien thing behind the mask. Something menacing. Not just some normal regular face of a guy you might see down the local boozer or something lol. But again most of the coolness of Boba as a badass was kind of lost since the Sarlacc pit incident where he was made to look a right plonker lol.

As for his outfit I don't know if it's wise having long pieces of potentially flammable flowing fabric under where a rocketpack blasts out fire and such. lol

Seriously. Although if costumes were that practical in the SWU, Scout Troopers piloting speeder bikes at 200MPH wouldn't have helmets shaped like air scoops. Those guys must have strong necks!
