NECA has officially revealed their upcoming Jaws – Matt Hooper 8″ Scale Figure. In the movie Hooper was played by Richard Dreyfuss, and is an oceanographer who comes to Amity Island to investigate reports of a Great White Shark attacking the locals. There he teams up with police Chief Martin Brody, and eventually fisherman Sam Quint, as they look for a way to rid Amity Island of the shark that threatens the entire town.
The new figure from NECA is part of their 8″ scale retro clothed figure line, and is based on Hooper’s arrival to Amity Island. It includes two interchangeable portraits, a fabric outfit, two hats, a duffel bag, and two paper cups. Pre-orders are now live for the figure. It’s due for release in March 2022, and will be priced at about $40 (depending on retailer). See pre-order links below, and photos and full details after the jump.

NECA is excited to announce a new 8″ clothed figure featuring the licensed likeness of Richard Dreyfuss as Matt Hooper from the 1975 classic. Standing at 8″ tall, the young oceanographer is equipped with screen-accurate accessories (two hats, duffel bag, cup, and crushed cup) as well as swappable heads and hands, and tailored clothing.

I dunno, I'm not sold on the overall look of the soft goods. They look sort of cheap, not enough finer details at this scale. I wish the Jaws figures we were getting were just ultimates.
Awesome! So glad they figured this out. Hopefully Brody comes around but I'm taking what I can get now.
Looks ok. I agree the material looks cheap in this but.
BUt $40 DOLLARS? Why? Remember when these were about $25? These will soon be 50 in a couple of years. Very odd considering they are using the same buck over and over.
