On September 16th, an all-new CGI Animated Series is coming to Netflix, which will reintroduce the Masters of the Universe to a new generation of fans. The new show, titled He-Man and the Maters of the Universe, will be a completely new take on the iconic series. Along with a new MOTU show, comes new toys from Mattel. While current toy lines from Mattel target the collectors who grew up with the franchise, the new series and toys are geared for a younger audience. The items you will find in this article are geared toward audiences aged 4+.
The new He-Man and the Masters of the Universe toys will feature action figures in two size classes. The main line will feature figures in a 5.5″ scale. This size class will offer figures, vehicles, and play sets. The figures in this size will retail for $9.99 each. The other size class is a series of figures at 8.5′” tall, giving kids a larger figure option. The 8.5″ tall figures will be priced at $12.99 each. In the 8.5″ line, there will be Deluxe Figures, priced at $19.99, featuring more accessories. The new figure lines are emphasizing sculpt and play over full articulation, as they look to keep the price point pretty reasonable. Look for these to be released on October 1st at Walmart stores.
After the jump, you can check out the initial details for the line, as well as new photos for the first wave of figures, vehicles, and more.

Wow Wow!
I love these, they are so different!
Bulky Boys! They look like the linebackers from that ps3 game Brutal Legend.
I absolutely love it, it's very different than previous MOTU lines.
He-Man looks great, Skeletor looks sick!
And the scale is cool, very oldschool 5 inch like Turtles and X-Men.
I'm very happy with this man.
I know there will be salty dudes, but hey man. You have MOTU reissues, MOTU Origins, MOTU Classics. I collect all by the way, even the minis with no legs.
This is cool stuff in my 36 year old mind. Hope the cartoon will be just plain fun action and some humor.
I did enjoy Revelations first 5 episodes but a bit letdown about 1 episode of He-Man. Still will get the figures, they look cool.
Anyway, very positive about this more child aimed, fresh style happy looking chunky dudes.
My first reaction was "Ewww" but hey, if kid's like them I'm cool with it. As long as it helps me get more Origins figures they can change the designs of the kid line all they want
I'm typically not one to like really cartoony looking figures. These are pretty cool though and my sons will love these, hopefully they're durable.
Trapjaw is a pretty wicked looking design. May use that look for a custom...
I'm not a fan of the designs but I dont hate them. I mean, I get it. this is a whole new take on the franchise but the key elements are there it seems. Just really stylized. Thats fine.
And I'll give the show a try. I'd rather have a real stylized take but kept all the key elements vs whatever the hell Thundercats Rawr was.
I guess Mattel is just using the sintered tool surface as free texturing nowadays. If it works it works, and it's always smart to keep costs down, but hopefully they'll vary it up as they go and keep things from setting samey
Looks terrible to me as toys. Maybe there is an audience, but it's not collectors, I wonder if kids will "buy?"
Just very odd imo. Mattel is just odd.
i really like the style and look of the 5.5" figs. reminds me of old playmates figs so ill grab them for sure. as for the rest im sure ill pass on them, they just look like the horrible marvel shampoo bottle figs and really have no place in my collection
I'm down for 2 He-Mans and a Skeletor. (One of those He-Mans is definitely going to be repainted as Faker, which is probably what I'm most excited about.
)
This is a miracle, mattel seems to finally have nailed the sculpts on something XD (Wish they had done this with the revelations line)
What trash. I know it's for kids, but so were the old shows, and they weren't this. This is just another "slick" 3D looking show because they can. Horrible character designs and even worse voice acting and unfunny comedic moments that no kid would laugh at. It's about what I thought it would be, but in some ways is worse. And it's yet another MOTU series with little head syndrome.
10 bucks the "unknown character" is The Sorceress.
Texturing has taken off like gangbusters. Can only imagine that in about 10 years toy design will go in the complete and opposite direction.
Just saw the trailer and honestly? It already looks more fun than Revelations.
Wait, wait, wait. There's no Battle Cat toy?
Ram Ma'am is the best name ever.
I don't know that these are any more "aimed at kids" than the original line in the 80's.
I'm not gonna collect them, but I think they're cool.
Soo all the good guys are kids & Orko is a robot. I don't know how to fell about this yet.
The larger 8.5 figures for some reason comes off to me like a lower end figure line (a la Hasbro Titan Heroes) but with more articulation than the normal figures(?)
Are kids really going to buy these? It's like how Star Wars keeps trying to appeal to kids with new lines and they keep failing because kids don't care - only the collectors care about these properties.
Kids and tweens and teens don't watch cartoons.
I like it. The designs (Skeletor) give off some heavy Darksiders vibes and I love everything about those games.
Not exactly my thing, but tempted by the motorcycles. Trap-Jaw looks like a nightmare though.
the snake moutain throne is really cool im sure gonna grab one for my origins skeletor, and a he man and a skeletor for my son in law
Wow, I've lost interest in this show faster than the other one.
And that texture is all over the new He-Man toys. The Revelations were especially unusual in that they polished the body part molds to a high shine without getting rid of texture, while the heads were polished to a smooth finish. I assume they needed the extra detail, or the tampo wouldn't sit flat otherwise, something like that
I'm sorry, but these look terrible. Please just make some more Origins figures...
