Earlier this year Zack Synder’s Justice League finally hit HBO MAX and fans were able to see his proper vision for that movie and the DCEU. Four years after it’s initial release, new toys are hitting shelves for the flick. McFarlane Toys dropped a wave+ of figures for the new cut of the film. Included are Batman, Superman, Aquaman, The Flash, Cyborg, Steppenwolf and Darkseid. Wonder Woman had a release last year for WW84 that is similar to her movie look.
There were multiple variants for all this as well. Batman comes unmasked and masked. On the masked ones the goggles can be up or down. Superman comes in black and standard blue suit. Cyborg has a masked and unmasked version. Darkseid also comes with armor and without.
We’ve run most of these for a set of pics after the break. We are missing Supes in blue and Steppenwolf. Read on to check it all out courtesy of McFarlane Toys!
These are in stores now or will be soon, hit your preferred spot to pick them up if you dig them!
Of note – Batcave shots use the diorama from Extreme-Sets.com. Check them out for a ton of awesome display setups. Use code TOYARK at checkout for 15% off your order!
Some Quick Thoughts
Batman sculpt and paint is solid. Masked, goggles down the best one. I handled a lot of versions of the Tactical suit from kiddie Mattel up through One:12 and this is well done especially for 20/5 bucks.
Cyborg is solid, both versions. The face sculpt came out really well on the unmasked one. Limited articulation in knees/elbows, but lots of paint and wash.
Flash is above average. All that red is hard to pull off. Sculpt is there, articulation solid. Crotch is a bit diaper-ish when you pose him in certain ways.
Aquaman, not the best. There aren’t many that did it well. Beards are hard. Neck down is acceptable.
Black suit Superman – up to the neck is solid. I *think the head sculpt is there – but the paint is way too thick, lost a lot of detail.
Darkseid – armored is solid, represents his look in movie. Shirtless – weird, just like movie. The torso cut is a little rough, but if you get him in the default sculpt position it’s not horrible, just normal weird at that point.
Overall – not a bad round of figures. I think the heavy paint on faces didn’t do them any favors. Masked, goggles down Batman, Armored Darkseid, regular Cyborg and Flash are worthy of attention for JL fans.
