Today we have a photo gallery and review for three new Spinatures Mini Busts from Waxwork Records. Their line of Spinatures are 4″ tall mini busts from a number of classic horror and sci-fi franchises. They can be displayed simply as collectible busts, or can be used as decorative record spinners that sit in the middle of a playing record. Previously, we’ve taken a look at both their Frankenstein’s Monster, Bride of Frankenstein, and the trio of Michael Myers from Halloween II, the Skeleton Masked Child from Halloween III, and the Politician Ghoul from They Live. In today’s gallery, we’re taking a look at the Creature From The Black Lagoon from the classic Universal Monsters film, and the Witch Masked Child and Jack-O-Lantern Masked Child from Halloween III.
Our friends at Waxwork Records have sent over the Spinatures for us to check out. After the jump you can see a full photo gallery and my impressions of the latest round of mini busts.

Overall
Each Spinatures bust is packed in a small collector friendly window box. The side features artwork of each specific character. One the back, it off the mini bust with some product photos and a bit of info. The busts sit in plastic trays held in by a plastic tie or by a plastic covering. The busts can be placed back into the boxes for easy storage or display. Since the boxes are uniform in size, and feature consistent artwork on the sides, they can be easily displayed stacked on top and next to each other. The larger window allows you to showcase the bust while in packaging, or you can turn it and use the art as a backdrop for each one.
This round of Spinatures was probably my favorite since the original Frankenstein’s Monster was released. The sculpts have always been great, but they seem to have really stepped up here, especially on the Gillman from Creature From The Black Lagoon. Each bust has some fantastic, and intricate details work, from the detailed sculpted fabric work on the masked kids to the individually sculpted scales on the Gillman. Paintwork is handled well, with bright vibrant colors used for the kids masks, and a nice muted green used on the Gillman. Waxwork employed some nice paint washes on the Spinatures to add depth to the sculpt work. Paint lines are crisp and clean with no noticeable bleeding or misaligned edges.
As these are mean to be used with record players, there are small holes on the bottom of each Spinatures bust. Those allow you to place the bust in the center of a record while playing. They fit on with no trouble and sit nice and level on the vinyl records. These won’t add much weight, and can’t be used as replacement for dedicated turntable weights. These are purely decorative display pieces.
The Spinatures are priced at $24 each, which is a decent price for a roughly 1/9 sale bust. However, for a limited time, you can get them for just $12 each directly from the Waxwork Records Shop. You can see some select photos below, and the full gallery after that.
