Avatar The Last Airbender Aang

Aang is the hero and spirit of the show. This adventurous 12- year-old is the last Airbender and only known survivor of the Air Nomads, the arrow on his head a constant reminder of his lineage. His destiny is to learn the art of the Avatar and defeat the Fire Lord of the Fire Nation. But rather than save the world, Aang searches for adventure. He wants a life full of fun experiences, not heavy responsibilities. Aang believes people are either in harmony with the Spirit of the Planet, or corrupt and misled. Because Aang is the Avatar, he has a connection with nature as well as animals. If he’s lost, Aang is able to “listen” to the spirits of the trees, rivers, and mountains who “tell” him which way to go. He is a trickster hero uninhibited by social constraints, and constantly breaking taboos.

  • 5” scale figure based off the Avatar: The Last Airbender animation
  • Aang is featured in his iconic traditional young Air Nomad attire
  • Designed with 10 points of articulation for play and pose
  • Includes Staff
  • Figure is showcased in Avatar: The Last Airbender card-backed blister packaging

————————————-

Avatar The Last Airbender Appa

Long-time friend and animal guide to Aang, Appa is a giant bison who is able to fly. He can often be seen transporting Aang, Katara and Sokka from one adventure to another! It was Appa who was frozen along with Aang in an iceberg for 100 years.

  • Appa is compatible with all 5″ McFarlane Toys Avatar figures
  • All 5″ McFarlane Avatar Figures can be posed to sit in Appa’s Saddle and Ride
  • Appa features moving head and opening and closing mouth
  • Figure is showcased in Avatar: The Last Airbender window box packaging
  • Collect all additional McFarlane Toys Avatar: The Last Airbender 5″ figures

————————————-

Avatar The Last Airbender Katara

Katara is a caring and passionate 14-year-old girl. Kindness and empathy are her most endearing traits. Katara is determined to save the world, despite her limited abilities. Katara is a Waterbender who longs to become a Master Waterbender in order to save her tribe. She practices Waterbending every day, adapting it to the basic Airbending philosophy and stances that Aang teaches her. Her mother died when she was 8 years old, so she was forced to grow up fast. Katara wears her mother’s necklace as a reminder of her nurturing spirit. Katara is very mature and responsible for her age and always plays the mediator between the often bickering Aang and Sokka, her brother.

  • 5” scale Figures based off the Avatar: The Last Airbender animation
  • Katara is featured in her traditional Water Tribe Attire
  • Designed with 10 points of articulation for play and pose
  • Figure is showcased in Avatar: The Last Airbender card-backed blister packaging

————————————-

Avatar The Last Airbender Prince Zuko

Zuko is an incredibly focused teenage Firebender who bullies and intimidates everyone around him. He is obsessed with capturing the Avatar. Prince Zuko is the oldest son of Fire Lord Ozai, ruler of the Fire Nation, and the great-grandson of Fire Lord Sozin, who conceived the war. When Prince Zuko was 14, he spoke out against his father and the Fire Nation’s conquest. To teach his insubordinate son a lesson, Fire Lord Ozai forced his son to fight him in a traditional Firebender duel. The Fire Lord defeated his son in front of his royal army, stripped the Prince of his birthright to the throne and banished him from his homeland, telling him the only way he will allow his return is with the Avatar, dead or alive. This is now Prince Zuko’s mission. Each day, Zuko studies Firebending with his Uncle, the Fire Lord’s brother. Zuko is a powerful Firebender for his age and eager to develop his skills. Zuko’s greatest weaknesses are his arrogance and impatience. He believes Firebending is the most dominant art and can never be bested by Water, Earth, or Airbending. Zuko’s teenage overconfidence makes him believe he’s invincible.

  • 5” scale Figures based off the Avatar: The Last Airbender animation
  • Zuko is featured in his traditional Fire Naton Army Attire
  • Designed with 10 points of articulation for play and pose
  • Figure is showcased in Avatar: The Last Airbender card-backed blister packaging
  • Collect all additional McFarlane Toys Avatar: The Last Airbender 5″ figures
  • Includes 2x Fire Daggers

————————————-

Avatar The Last Airbender Sokka

Sokka is a bullheaded, sarcastic teenager who believes that his way is the only way. He shows the strength and determination of a warrior, but lacks the experience and wisdom to use them effectively. Sokka’s goal in life is to reunite with his father, so that together they may exact revenge against the Fire Nation for destroying their tribe. His most prized possession is a boomerang, a traditional weapon of his Water Tribe, which his father bequeathed to him before leaving the tribe. Sokka is not in touch with his spiritual side and doesn’t trust anything he can’t physically see or touch. Therefore, he’s practical; preferring tools and weapons to Bending, which he has not learned. Sokka’s personality is abrasive at times, but his loyalty and courage are steadfast. He holds grudges and has difficulty forgiving anyone who has done harm to him or his sister.

  • 5” scale Figures based off the Avatar: The Last Airbender animation
  • Sokka is featured in his traditional Water Tribe Attire
  • Designed with 10 points of articulation for play and pose
  • Includes Boomerang and Sheath
  • Figure is showcased in Avatar: The Last Airbender card-backed blister packaging

————————————-

Avatar The Last Airbender Aang with Glider

An Airbender’s signature tool is his staff. The staff doesn’t possess any magical properties. The staff is used as a weapon to enhance the amount and power of attacks and defenses by helping the Airbender move and manipulate air to compliment their bending. It can also transform into a small glider allowing the Airbender to glide the currents and Three dimensional movement while other benders are stranded on the ground.

  • 5” scale Figures based off the Avatar: The Last Airbender animation
  • Aang is in his iconic traditional young Air Nomad attire and features a new face expression
  • Designed with 10 points of articulation for play and pose
  • Includes Glider
  • Figure is showcased in Avatar: The Last Airbender window box packaging
  • Collect all additional McFarlane Toys Avatar: The Last Airbender 5″ figures
  • Aang can attach to the glider and mimic in show gliding action

    THANK. GOD.

I would have bought up those DST figures but they looked how they did... so I never bothered.

The anime face sculpting has been improving (slowly but surely) so I do have high hopes here.

Now just take the LOTR license too

Oh hell yeah! I did get the DST figures and while they're just OKAY, the articulation is not there, especially for figures you're going to possibly want to pose in martial arts stances. I hope my boi Todd comes through on these!

If I had a nickel for every time someone made this joke, I'd have enough money to buy every Mcfarlane Batman variant

I would assume the animated style, his different anime figures so far have stuck to their source from what I can tell.

Yeah, it's definitely underwhelming. I actually had a 50% off coupon at Hot Topic, where they're selling wave 2 already. I had no use for the coupon and was hoping to get rid of it, lol.

I can’t wait to put Aang and Katara together as a couple and I can’t wait to do the same with Korra and Mako. To be honest I didn’t feel Korra and Asami as a couple, they felt so last minute since they only had chemistry as friends only, they didn’t really like each other the way Korra and Mako did. So when these figs hit I’m buying Korra, Aang, Mako, and Katara.

These seem to have simple(r) articulation, no ball joints at wrists or ankles. Visually that looks good, functionally will be more limited.

Also no word on scale, 6 or 7 inch.

  19. Ricno924's Avatar Ricno924 says

    06-06-2021, 11:05 AM

The limited articulation is disappointing, but aesthetically speaking I think these look better than DST's so it'd be an easy choice for me. Maybe the simplicity implies they'll be cheaper/packaged in 2s, especially if they're at accurate heights for 1:12-scale kids. I could see Katara/Sokka, Aang/Zuko, and Appa with an Aang variant; or Aang/Appa and Zuko with an unrevealed Iroh.

Agreed on both fronts. As for the other characters, I might hang on for the long haul in hopes of getting the S3 designs.

I think limited functionality is a fair trade for Avatar figures that actually look good for a change.

These might be the same size as those new, smaller scale MHA figures I've been seeing at Walmart which also have reduced articulation but still look pretty accurate.

  25. CasualCollector has no avatar! CasualCollector says

    06-06-2021, 05:37 PM

As an Avatar fan, honestly the compromise feels like a GOOD thing. Comes down to everyone having leg coverings, so plastic would hinder articulation regardless.

Hopefully these means more characters, maybe even a separate line for articulated characters like MHA.
