I haven't been getting this line since I have all the originals, but man, that Ray Filet looks awesome. He was one of my favorite figures when I was a kid.

These all look pretty great. I'm most interested in the Samurai Leo, they really did great with him!

Oh man! Amazing! I love this Super7 line.

Funny enough, Leatherhead is my least favorite. I was always disappointed by the original figure. One of the only instances where I actually preferred the cartoon appearance. Although this is a faithful update.

Wow, another wave that strongly tempts me to get in on this line. Still, looks pretty good for the updated nostalgia feels.

It's so odd they insisted on scaling up Rocksteady & Bebop but not Leatherhead. He looks more goofy than terrifying.
I wish Ray Fillet's alt head didn't have fangs.
Leo looks thin for a turtle wearing samurai armor.

Yeah, he's strangely spindly-looking, especially compared to Ray.

Are they scaled up? All I have is Bebop and Baxter and they look way too large to go with the NECA Turtles.

This is my favorite line going right now. Ray Fillet was such a surprise...amazing. I love how expressive and dynamic the alternate Krang is. Sewer Samurai Leo looks badass. Leatherhead, I was curious how they would execute him...and, for better or for worse, he looks like the vintage figure. I'd hoped they'd take a few more creative liberties with him, but accept that it fits the MO of the line. And I don't know how much bigger they could have realistically made him.

I'm really curious what Wave 6 will be. I'd assume one of the other Turtles in Disguise (hoping for Undercover Don next), Rat King, Genghis Frog, and someone weird like Pizza Face.

These are in the 7" scale so they don't really go with the NECA Toon Turtles, which are for some reason one of the only NECA lines in 6" scale.

So far they've only been randomly producing figures from the first 3 waves of the vintage line. So here's what's left in those waves:

    Wave 1:
April yellow/orange and yellow/white suit variants

    Wave 2:
    Ace Duck
    General Traag
    Genghis Frog
    Rat King
    Usagi Yojimbo

    Wave 3:
    Fugitoid
    Napoleon Bonafrog
    Panda Khan
    Pizza Face
    Slash
    Scumbag
    Wingnut/Screwloose
    Undercover Don
    Surfer Mike
    Space Cadet Raphael

They'll probably include one each of those 3 remaining turtles in disguise in the next 3 waves just so they can keep including a main turtle in every wave. Beyond those, we'll probably get Rat King and another wave 3 character in wave 6. I'm hoping for Slash, Wingnut/Screwloose, and Fugitoid next too before the rest of these leftover characters. Have they resolved the licensing issues with being able to do Usagi Yojimbo yet?

Brian Flynn said there will be a surprise character who has never gotten a figure before in Wave 6. I am not sure what Youtube interview it was in.

In the original line, Bebop & Rocksteady were basically the same size as the turtles. In this line, they've specifically been made an inch taller to be more imposing. I would've expected Leatherhead be given similar treatment. Now he looks even shrimpier by comparison.

YAY! That is the best news!! I'd expect all those kind of figures at the very end of the line. MIX IT UP B-DOG! It's EXCITING!!!!
Could you find the interview??? I'd like to watch.

I get it. I'm not sure how I feel except I'm a little relieved about shelf space. He's a tough character to re-imagine.
Samurai Leo is totally badass. I wasn't really looking forward to it much. I'm on board now.
The Krang faces are AWESOME! Fun upgrade.

I've been tempted to pick up a few of these guys, but the lack of availability of Leo and Raph, as well as the high prices, have kept me from doing so.

Ray Fillet would've pushed me over the edge, but now the prices have gone up another $10...

Now I'm back to not being sure, although I have pre-ordered everyone I want thanks to BBTS putting up more wave 1 and 2 pre-orders, so I have orders locked in while I think about it.

Ray Fillet looks amazing. Others don’t wow me. I guess it’s because the Tmnt toys were the “weak link” of Tmntmania in the 80’s/90’s. Cartoons, comics, and video games were great, but the toys were a mess. Forget the poor articulation, but most looked nothing like their cartoon or comics version.

Usually when I see a nostalgic “ultimate” retro toy, it brings back warm feelings of my childhood. These just remind me how frustrated I was with Playmates as a kid.
Oh well, to each their own. I’m thankful collectors have options today, especially with the Tmnt brand. Neca and Super7 have managed to appease fans in ways that seem foreign to Playmates Toys.

Leatherhead is the one release above all else that I have wanted from this line, and while I cannot lie and say I'm completely happy, I'm not complaining about it either. He's a character I wondered how he would be handled...whether he would be given a more upright, bulked up stance (similar to the Neca/2012 line versions) or whether he would be given the squat stance of the original toy. It's kind of a hybrid of both...as he looks a bit beefed up (especially considering how tiny the original toy was,) but still maintains that original aesthetic...so I can't really complain either way.

Ray looks fantastic...and is one of my favorite Playmates figures of all time. I certainly did not expect them to make that deep of a dive so soon. (Pardon the pun.) It gives me hope we might see Panda Khan, Walkabout, or Wingnut and Screwloose sooner than later.

I have the first two waves and I can't say I'm disappointed with them in anyway except not being able to add water to Mutagen Man.

lol now that they're on preorder again I'm very tempted to buy a second to attempt it.

It bugs me they didn't do it since they went to the effort of re-creating all the little things that you would put in the old one to float around...and you can't do anything with them. His hands are too big to hold them.
