Posted on April 21, 2021 at 8:24 am by Joe Moore under Godzilla Toy News

SH MonsterArts 2004 Gigan 005

Tamashii Nations has announced that Gigan will be making a return to the S.H. MonsterArts line up. The figure is based on Gigan’s appearance in the 2004 film Godzilla: Final Wars. The figure originally debuted in the S.H. MonsterArts line back in 2014. Pre-orders for the figure will begin on Friday, April 23rd. From the preview photos, you can see that Gigan will include multiple swap out arms and an eye blast effect piece.

The figure will be Premium Bandai Web Exclusive. It will be priced at 15,180 Yen (about $140 USD), and will ship out in September 2021. We will update with official details and more images when they become available. You can see all of the preview images after the jump.

Holding out hope Super7 will deliver the baddies they say they can. Might go along better with my NECa.

I love Gigan but I was never a fan of this look, it always seemed too "busy", like something a kid would doodle in their Trapper-Keeper haha

Is that force perspective or are those hooks gigantic? I agree he's busy looking but might be cool on the shelf with the effects!

Forced perspective, based on the scene from the movie were Gigan shoots these hooks towards the camera.

@Topic: Man, they're really reissuing anything now. SHMA Gigan was one of the first figures I bought when I started collecting. He's pretty neat, the teeth on the chainsaw hands are one separate, soft rubber piece so the saws actually spin if you move them. Not a gimmick or anything but kind of cool.

The new accessories are great, so if you like the design I would go for it. ¥5000 inflation isn't too bad either considering the new pieces you get.

But I wish we would get some new stuff from the Toho movies. Not just Godzillas and reissues. When I read SHMA Final Wars I thought we would get Monster X or something.

Was hoping for Gigan from "Godzilla vs Megalon". Like many others, I always felt this guy was too busy.

Damn this is expensive. If they're gonna keep doing re-releases I hope they re-issue Mothra and Destroyah, those are 2 that I missed and are way too costly now.

I wish Super 7 would hurry up and show us what they're doing with Ultimate Godzillas. I'm hoping they are cheaper than Mosterarts and come with way more accessories. I'm worried they may end up being cartoony though.

Does anyone know how to purchase this figure through the Japanese site or if it will possibly be put on sale through the American site?

Visually, it's a very cool looking character but as some have stated, just looks too busy & seems to have many easily breakable parts. I'm hoping they re-release Mecha G that had the Blue ship that could attach to his back. Also, are they ever planning on doing a GVK Mecha G & MUTOs?
