Destroy All Monsters Set 2 Mezco 015

Mezco Toyz has opened up pre-orders for two Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters – 5 Points Box Sets. Each set contains four figures from the iconic entry in the Showa era Godzilla films. Released in 1968, Destroy All Monsters featured a number of kaiju including Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, Anguirus, and more. The monsters fall under the control of an alien race, who set them out to destroy a number cities throughout the world. When the monsters eventually break free of control, they must face the nearly indestructible King Ghidorah.

Set 1 contains Godzilla, Mothra (larval stage), Anguirus, and Rodan. Set 2 includes King Ghidorah, Minilla, Gorosaurus, and Baragon. Most of the kaiju include accessories and/or swap out parts. The sets are priced at $85 each, with release set for some time between November 2021 and January 2022. You can order the sets directly from Mezco Toyz. Read on for photos and full details.

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters (1968) – Round 1 Boxed Set

5 Points XL – a colossal addition to our nostalgic 5 Points line with the same fan-fueled fun, but bigger!  …It’s a little bit of a big deal.

The monsters are in revolt…and the world is on the brink of destruction!

  • Godzilla – King of the Monsters! Godzilla comes with a pair of alternate arms, an alternate head portrait, and his signature atomic breath FX that attaches to one of his head portraits.
  • Mothra – The giant moth goddess is depicted in her larval stage. Mothra comes with a web FX that attaches to her mouth.
  • Anguirus – Friend or foe? This five-brained burrowing Kaiju comes with an alternate closed-mouth head portrait.
  • Rodan – Irradiated Pteranodon and flying menace! Rodan comes with an alternate closed-mouth head portrait.

ACCESSORIES:

  • Two (2) pairs of Godzilla arms

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters (1968) – Round 2 Boxed Set

5 Points XL – a colossal addition to our nostalgic 5 Points line with the same fan-fueled fun, but bigger!  …It’s a little bit of a big deal.

It’s an all-out attack of monstrous proportions as the battle against the three-headed kaiju king from outer space continues!

This second bursting box of behemoths contains King Ghidorah, Manilla, Gorosaurus, and Baragon and includes select interchangeable heads, arms, legs, or FX.

THE 5 POINTS XL DESTROY ALL MONSTERS (1968): ROUND 2 SET INCLUDES:

  • King Ghidorah – This three-headed space dragon is also Godzilla’s arch-enemy! King Ghidorah comes with three gravity beam FX that can attach to his three head portraits.
  • Minilla – son of Godzilla. Minilla comes with alternate arms, an alternate head portrait, and his signature atomic smoke ring FX that attaches to his head portrait… he’s still working out the whole atomic breath thing.
  • Gorosaurus – The giant dinosaur that utilizes a leaping kick attack, similar to that of a kangaroo.
  • Baragon – A four-legged, horned dinosaur-like creature. Baragon is known to leap long distances, burrow deep into the ground, and use his head to get his point across. Baragon comes with an alternate head portrait and an alternate pair of legs.

Holy cow! These are awesome ! Sold!

These look really screen accurate, I will however defer to DR.Kain on that thought. Lol.

My jaw is stuck to the floor. What a fantastic idea. Lifelong Godzilla fan here to say these look incredible. Never pre-ordered anything so fast in my life. Sculpts all look on par with Bandai's 6" vinyls, if not better.

I know they say XL but I really wanna know what the exact scale is here

I could moan about the price, but it's irrelevant in the end. Either I'll pay what they want or I'll go without. And going without is not an option.

Man, I was looking forward to what Super7 ReAction Godzilla series might look like. I know they'll have a retro/vintage look and feel. But I had no idea Mezco had gotten a license too. Well, who needs retirement money?
So much Godzilla goodies, so little time.

All over this set! I love getting so many monsters in one pack and also all scaled to each other.

Godzilla is 4.5" tall. So they are still fairly small. Ghidorah say 5" tall but who knows what head they're measuring haha. Top of his wings might be 7"?

Yeah, I have to consider our options (for now) are this and Super7. These look way better painted than any Super7 Reaction figure has IMO. Worth the extra few bucks plus the swap out parts.

Unexpected and awesome. These look way better than Super7 Reaction figures and are reasonably priced given all the accessories.

Does rodan have 2 or 3 heads? 2 according to the summary, 3 according to the pics. Either way, I may be the only person on this thread really struggling to justify the price.

I'm confused about Rodan as well, not gonna lie one of the selling points for me was what looked like a "flying pose" head.

Given that the loadout shot shows two heads...I'm hoping he comes with both.

    I'm not gonna lie.
I had no idea anything like this was on the horizon other than thinking "It would be nice if they could do this with Godzilla" when I saw their Ultraman set.

And these are better than I could have imagined when I imagined that.

I'm not entirely sure I'm not dreaming this.

Well it says Ghidorah is 5inches, but that's still too small.

In the movies, Godzilla was 50 meters and Ghidorah was 100m, which means he should be double Godzilla's size. Only having him be .5 inches bigger means he would be no more than 65m to scale, if that.

    Gonna get really nerdy here.

Toho states Ghidorah's "official" height in the Showa movies is 100m. But on-screen there is no way he is TWICE as big as Godzilla. It wasn't until the 91 movie where his real towering height became realized.

So technically, a 65-70m Ghidorah makes sense in scale.

His middle head here has to be at least an inch taller than Godzilla, but his wings make him even taller going by them.

This is true. Plus, it was the 64 Ghidorah that was 100m, whereas the DAM one was meant to be smaller. So nevermind, I guess this new figure is technically correct.

Add these to the list of toys I would’ve loved to have as a child. Zapping through the TV on Sunday to find out if that one channel happened to air one of the old Godzilla flicks and then spend the rest of the day outside playing with my dinosaur toys after watching it was the best.

As cool as these are, I think I have to pass. I don’t really feel like spending 160 bucks on both sets combined and I have no place to display them anyways.

However, hear me out Mezco - please make either Godzilla himself or one of his buddies in fully articulated form. The Mezco King Kong figure from 2018 is one of my favorite pieces in my entire collection still.

This really made me wonder about that too, a fully articulated Godzilla figure from them. If they do that and he's a similar price to Kong, Super7 will have to really do something special I think.

NECAs were/are comparable to Monsterarts considering the price. An Ultimates Godzilla will be at least $55 with their latest pricing, maybe more. The aesthetic has to be worth it for people to buy at that when they were buying NECAs for half that price or buying more detailed/articulated ones in Monsterarts for another $30-40.
