Push items aren’t something we cover too often here on Toyark. Today, we’re making a bit of an exception for something that looks pretty cool. Mattel Creations, who have been specializing in more artistic style releases, have opened up pre-orders for a high end Baby Yoda, er…Grogu plush release. Based on a mix of Season 1 and Season 2 episodes of The Mandalorian, the Grogu Collector Edition Plush with Hover Pram is basically the ultimate plushie version of everyone’s favorite little womp rat.
The Grogu plush stands about 12″ tall, with a plastic head sculpt and a soft fabric body, arms, and legs. The head sculpt features more painted detail than the retail release, with more realistic eyes, and rooted stubble for the hair. the clothing also looks to ave a bit more weathering to it as well. Grogu includes a metal knob from the Razorcrest, and a Chowder Squid that can attach to his face. The real draw, however, is the scaled plastic Hover Pram with an adjustable display base. The Pram opens and closes as it does in the show, and the stand allows you to adjust the height of the Hover Pram (up to 42″ tall). Grogu can fit inside as well.

The Mandalorian - Grogu with Hover Pram by Mattel Creations
I'm usually one who can sit defend pricing or at least come up for a reason if it's Super7 doing limited runs etc, but why is this $400 from a giant company and the hands and feet aren't even molded? When I saw it was by Mattel I was actually thinking 'wow I might pick this up!' but the price is too close to Sideshow and Hot Toys. But this has the ear hair out of all 3!
Weird that Mattel can make this, I thought Hasbro would be the only ones able to
It must be the plush thing, I didn't know if Mattel has done any other Star Wars plushes but they've done a couple of them.
So I'll walk back my comment above a bit wanting more molded parts, I'm assuming they just can't do it with the license. But damn $400 still!
Interesting, another choice, but think most would go for the better quality version in this "scale," they all are in the similar retail price point of around $400 (give or take $25).
So, essentially the $20 figure with a $380 craddle... Nope.
For $400 that pram better have a working repulsorlift.
