A new addition to the Ray Harryhausen Collection has been revealed by Star Ace Toys. They have announced the Jason and the Argonauts – Talos Vinyl Statue, which is being produced by X-Plus. In the 1963 film, Jason and his Argonauts travel to the Isle of Bronze so that his crew may find food and supplies. Ignoring the warnings of Hera to take only provisions, Hercules removes a massive broach. The thievery awakens the gigantic statue of the Greek god Talos, who attacks the Argonauts for stealing from his protected land. After destroying their ship, the Argo, Jason and his crew turn to Hera, who instructs them to remove the plug from his ankle. The statue falls, crushing one of Jason’s crew. Hercules, broken by the cost of his betrayal, and refusing the accept the fate of his friend, stays behind on the Isle of Bronze while the remaining Argonauts flee.
The Talos statue stands over 12.5″ tall and is cast in soft vinyl. It features a sword in one hand, and Jason’s ship, the Argo, being pulled from the water in the other. A Deluxe Version will also be available, which features a polyresin diorama rock display base from the scene. The statue is priced at $288.99 for the Deluxe Version. Pricing for the Regular version hasn’t been revealed just yet. UPDATE 3/5/2021: The Regular Edition is priced at $199.99. It will be released in the Third Quarter of 2021. Jason and the Argonauts - Talos Vinyl Statue by x-Plus

Wow that's fantastic!
This looks great. Am a fan of Harryhausen and anything that would be "cinema classic." It's just a shame these came out now than about 15 years ago, I'd be filling up alot of these and would pair well with my 1/18 scale collection at the time.
Star Ace/X-Plus is doing great work, another excellent looking piece.
Here's a quick thought, I might get these if Figma made articulated versions of some of these similar or in scale with their Table Museum line.
I was so looking forward to this, but that boat kills it for me. It's odd, but I feel like it throws the whole composition off. I had a clean and simple 'Power Pose' in my head; this ends up being just a little too... busy? (Which I should be okay with, really. Skipping this will make affording two of the 7th Voyage Cyclops figures that much easier...
)
Pretty awesome!
Looks great (love the continued Harryhausen support), but still...

I've been waiting for a good Talos statue for so long. The boat just ruins it for me.
I may cave since I don't know how many more options will come our way.

Looks like you can easily display without the boat. It moves and can just rest on that little wave thing.
Always awesome to get Greek mythology for our displays, but X-Plus is overpriced for what you get. And without the diorama base this isn't going to be as interesting.
So you can remove the boat? That makes sense, and yet then I'm like - "But what is he doing in a half squat?"
