DC Multiverse – Pre-Orders Open for the Todd McFarlane Designed Batman Variant

Posted on February 11, 2021 at 3:24 pm by Joe Moore under DC Toy News

McFarlane Designed Batman Variant 006

McFarlane Toys is releasing a variant of the Todd McFarlane Designed Batman Figure. The new variant features a muted blue and gray paint scheme for the costume. It ditches the goggles for a new Batarang, and still includes two swords. A figure display stand is also included. Target.com has opened up pre-orders. It’s priced at $19.99, with a release set for March 22nd. Check out the new photos after the jump.

Batman Designed by Todd McFarlane (variant)

In the 1980’s, Todd McFarlane began drawing Batman™ professionally, working on the classic storyline “Batman: Year Two™” in Detective Comics™, and creating iconic artwork, including his dynamic cover for Batman #423. Todd went on to become a titan of the comic book industry, but has always had an affinity for Batman, stating,”I’ve always liked the fact that Batman has no super powers. When it comes down to it, he’s just a dude in a costume. Conceivably, if you pushed him off a roof (Batarangs, etc. aside), he could potentially die, unlike Superman™.”

Product Features:

  • Incredibly detailed 7” scale figures based off the DC Multiverse
  • Designed with Ultra Articulation with up to 22 moving parts for full range of posing and play
  • This Batmanfigure is inspired from the mind of Todd McFarlane, to create a new never before seen before version of Batman. This figure is featured with a Cape and Cowl
  • Batman comes with two swords, batarang and a base
  • Includes collectable art card with Todd McFarlane Batman artwork on front and character biography on the back

Maybe take the head from arkham or gold label bats? Other than the head it looks pretty cool.

IMO pouches on the bicep is too much pouches... I like the logo being part of the cape though.

Liefeld can draw feet, he just can't draw feet on a proper flat surface. Big difference. And feet are pretty unimportant anyway as far as magazine and comic covers go...even the card that comes with this horribly designed batman figure illustrates that point.

It's also available on Amazon. Glad I canceled the Gold Label edition, I prefer these new swords and don't like the goggles.

Love how funny is the ego of Mcfarlane. Just imagine the guy telling his employees: you must write I am a "titan of the comic book industry"!

He does have a big ego yet he still can't figure out how to balance sculpt and articulation at the same time up to now and then we have his sycophants defending the "no articulation because it ruins the sculpt" bull crap. It's pathetic.
