Dropping a set for one of the recently released McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse figures – The Drowned, aka Batman from Earth -11. This is the last major piece of the original Dark Knights from Dark Nights Metal. With her in place, the core line up is complete. Technically Bryce Wayne and Batwoman, the earth she hails from is gender reversed so she is the Dark Knight there. She was co-opted by Barbatos and The Batman Who Laughs to destroy the original Batman, along with all the other alternate Batmen we’ve seen. Each of them take on the look or gear of their greatest enemy at the time they went to the dark side, hence each having a connection to our other heroes.
As a figure, the drowned is another solid offering from McFarlane. The Dark Knights in particular have all been excellent, and the fact that the entire team was completed in (almost) year one was a welcome surprise. Articulation is there even in the skinny female form. Paint is well done head to toe as usual. Sculpt is also great, detailing and texture is present everywhere needed. All in all, great execution. For me though, it wasn’t about her in particular, but the fact the team is now complete.
Read on to check out our shots, basic and fancy. We have her other wave mates in hand here too – Red Son Superman, Damian Wayne, Death Metal Batman and the (literal) Batcycle. Working on those, check back soon for our shots and thoughts!
