Not bad! I'll definitely get Kong and probably Godzilla too. I got rid of all the Legendary figures a while ago.

Is this going to be available at bbts? I tried grabbing them at HLJ but looks like Kong is already sold out.

Most likely, yes. These are being distributed by Bluefin, so places like BBTS and EE have to wait for them to officially send out solicitations for the items.

Any specific reason that SH Monsterarts cannot do the 2 monsters from "War of the Gargantuas"? Those 2 characters have only gotten like a couple of model & static statue sets in the past 55yrs. The Godzilla vs Kong figs have finally got me into this line & I also just purchased the Rodan/Mothra set plus a classic Ultraman SH fig. Gidorah is very expensive so I may not get him, maybe if they do a release at a low price point I will. If they're making a new MechGodzilla of the new movie, then I'll definitely get him.

Sadly I think these guys just aren't relevant anymore, too niche.

Tamashii doesn't really touch most of the Showa Godzilla stuff either, supposedly because not even the Japanese fans really care.

That's such a crock of crap that they think that way. I bet there are a ton of WOTG fans out there besides me. Have they even reconsidered doing a remake? I mean Ultraman is getting a new series on Netflix. And he came out around the same time that WOTG did in 66' I believe. What about Jet Jaguar?

^ I'm also a fan of War of the Gargantuans, but as Ramen said, there just isn't enough of a market for something so very obscure. Sure, Adult Swim created a bump that was so obviously influenced by War of the Gargantuans. But that was the point; it was so niche that it bordered on arthouse quality. Knowing about that flick or others, like Atragon or Super Inframan requires one to be an otaku's otaku...

They have their reasons. They have done Showa monsters, mostly Ultraman but still, and they usually are very open in contact with their customers. Online surveys and events were they talk to people. We like to belittle companies for not doing what we want, but they have their data, if they won't do it then its because there isn't enough interest in their target audience right now.

Maybe. Maybe not. Also: How many of those would buy high-end collectible figures? I'm a huge monster movie fan and I probably wouldn't order them if they were made.

Ultraman is a huge and very much alive franchise though. The Gargantuans were last relevant when they had what, a brief stock footage appearance in Godzilla: Final Wars?

And Jet Jaguar is similarly obscure. Although a new version of him is going to be featured in the upcoming Godzilla anime so who knows.

I've gotten into the Monsterarts line thanks to the GVK movie figs so I've been going crazy buying N scale 1:150 building dios, streets & vehicles, also have printed out some building textures & made a few building of my own. Got Ultraman & the Rodan/Mothra 2 pack for now to tide me down till June when Godzilla/Kong figs ship. Here's a few pics I took of Rodan & Mothra tag teaming Ultraman in my city dio scene which is still in the early stages of development.

Finally got a bunch of BD Buildings I ordered a few weeks ago so been able to enlarge my city dio, also got a few trucks & vehicles as well as adding trees & street lights. Still have like 10 more BD buildings I have to assemble so will have an entire BD city dio to display & take pics of in a few days. Here I got ultraman taking on Rodan 1st as he's a bigger threat to him than Mothra is. And yeah, there are civilian casualties in my city dio.

Finally got a bunch of my battle damaged buildings painted & weathered & also added some BD to my vehicles.

Finally got all my BD Buildings that I ordered off Ebay via China. I added some additional BD to the buildings with a soldering Iron & added BD to the vehicles as well. Ultraman is bout finished taking out both Rodan & Mothra as imo, neither would be a match for him. Can't wait for Godzilla & Kong to hit in June. I did order an SH Figuarts Ultraman Geed to give Ultraman a fight, should be getting him by week's end. Anyhow, enjoy the new pics!
