Ghost – Papa Emeritus I Ultimates 7″ Scale Figure
“Tonight we’re summoned for a divine cause…” To commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the debut album of rock’s most mysterious band Ghost, Super7 is honored to welcome Papa Emeritus I to our ULTIMATES! Figures Collection.
Papa Emeritus I was the progenitor of the heavy rock phenomenon, Ghost. From the shadows , he and his nameless ghouls filled the airwaves with sounds of dark rituals, human sacrifices, and satanic hymns. Known for his mysterious nature and aggressive stage presence, Papa Emeritus I elevated Ghost to heights few in the Clergy ever come to achieve. During his tenure as Papa, he toured the U.S. and Europe several times, all while staying true to the message of the Dark Ministry. While Papa Emeritus I’s achievements in the name of Satan were numerous, the Clergy had even greater plans of world domination…
This made-to-order deluxe 7″ highly articulated figure features Papa Emeritus I from the Opus Eponymous album era. The figure is lavishly detailed and painted and features an epic assortment of interchangeable accessories:

Ghost - Papa Emeritus I Ultimates Figure by Super7

This is the first official merchandise featuring Papa I that isn't a shirt or just the cover of Opus Eponymous. Kind of a big deal!
I just looked up this band I never heard of and listen to a couple songs This band sucks!!!
Oh man i love it, One of my favorite bands and he will have a place of honor on my shelf.
This sort of gives me hope that Super7 will make an Ultimates Jerry Only figure from the Misfits.
I could live a thousand years and still never understand the infatuation with this band. That said great for those that want it and this should open up more ultimates across the board.
Yeah, I don't get it either but, cool for the people that are into it.
Can anybody recommend some songs from these guys. They seem to be popular but I've never really heard of them.
anywho, I think the reason a lot of people don't like this band is:
a) their music doesn't match the image at all. It's nothing more than heavy-ish pop.(I like some of the stuff I've heard)
b) not sure which iteration of "papa" it was, but isn't there a controversy with one of them stealing royalties from the rest of the band by claiming to have written all the songs himself or some such nonsense?
Yeah they definitely aren't the death metal hardcore stuff you might expect from the look, but I dig the music. All the Papa Emeritus looks are pretty cool as well.

I took my wife to see Ghost for her birthday a couple of years ago and knowing almost nothing about them going in,, came away pretty impressed with the show. They had a good stage presentation, and they were really sharp and crisp. I'm still not really a fan, but I came away actually liking a few of the songs I heard, and if anyone has a chance to see them live, I certainly wouldn't discourage them from doing so.
They have a couple of really good covers as well. Their cover of the Eurythmics "Missionary Man" and Imperiet's "Bibel" (aka Bible) are absolutely brilliant. I actually prefer their version of "Bible" over the original.
ahh, this is where I was confused by joe's comment. no dash.
That case was dismissed. I followed it super closely and even read all the (translated) court documents. It basically boiled down to sour grapes.
thanks for the info.
Just youtubed up some of their songs... ummm... yeah not for me. Sounds like a bunch of Satanists lol. Congrats to those that want this figure, I guess...
The truth is, all four of their albums are pretty distinct, and some people even hate some albums while loving others. For example, I am in love with their earlier work, which is darker, heavier, and more evil, but I'm not such a huge fan of their newer work, which is more radio-friendly, lighter, more ballad-esque. Bottom line is, they only have four albums, so if you have an afternoon you could figure out for yourself whether or not you dig the band. Additionally, if you were listening to a particular album and you don't dig the sound, you can skip to the next album and get something different from the same band.
I know that's a bad answer and not what you were looking for lmao. If you'd rather not do all that, a good "sampler platter" from each phase of the band may serve you:
I: Ritual, Stand By Him
II: Year Zero, Monstrance Clock
III: Cirice, Deus in Absentia
III.5: Square Hammer
IV: Rats, Witch Image
IV.5: Kiss the Go-Goat
Thank you guys I appreciate the useful information on this thread. This was a band I was peripherally aware of but now that I had some context I knew where to start. So far I've listened to Square Hammer and the It's A Sin cover and it was pretty good. Not over the moon or anything but I have something else to listen to now.
