The figure will include an art deco themed base, a throne, and a plaque.
The figure is priced at $499.99, and is available to pre-order from Big Bad Toy Store. Look for the False Maria to be released in the Third Quarter of the year. You can see full details and new photos after the jump.
Metropolis – Maschinenmensch Metal 1/6 Scale Action Figure
The Metropolis Robot AKA False Maria AKA Maschinenmensch is one of the most iconic robots in film history and one of the first robots depicted in cinema. It is also a historic piece of science fiction history. Elegant in design, The Maschinenmensch replication used all modern technology and ALL reference material available to achieve the final product. Every effort was put into making this figure a genuinely collectible ART piece to guarantee to go up in value.
In 1927 the film Metropolis was released, a landmark film in cinema history not only because of the subject matter or the film’s cost; approx. 3 million dollars to produce, the most expensive film made at the time. It was the set design and the creation of the Maschinenmensch robot by Walter Schulze-Mittendorff’. Not only was his creation a beautiful work of art, reflecting the art-deco movement at the time, but it was one of the first robots ever depicted in film. To this date, Mittendorff’s robot design still infatuates those seeing it for the first time. The robot itself could stand alone as a majestic statue to sit proudly on anyone’s mantelpiece or table.

Metropolis - 1/6 Scale False Maria Figure by Executive Replicas

The license cost must be ridiculous and the production run must be pretty limited. I couldn't justify the cost of the 2001 collectibles, despite it being one of my favorite films, and this is in a similar place with even more prohibitive pricing.
There probably is a market for this, but this is definitely one of those releases where a crowdfunding campaign would have been useful for determining viability... Unless Executive Replicas is well off with their more reasonable offerings and this is a "passion project" of sorts.

Wouldn't it be Maschinenfraulein?
I think this Figure will do well...
For there Market(s). From the serious
"got have" action fig collectors
to the Movie Buffs. I can see it.
Maybe....
they will make a "low end" Maria, for under
a 100 bucks. For the less fortunate among us =^)
I will be looking forward to the review, on Maria.
This movie is actually good.
Movie was a classic. Didn't Mezco make one of this a few years ago? Maybe an updated One:12 version in the future? Bit too pricey for me, even for an all metal construct at 1/6. However I do think they priced it for that particular target collector. Enjoy.

Lots of interesting details about the production and process in the botched campaign page.
I cannot post links, unfortunately, look it up on indiegogo.
