Meh, burned out on this line before I've held a single figure in my hand.

What's different about the deluxe Hordak versus regular Hordak? Any pics of him yet?

Don't know about Hordak specifically but looks like deluxe figures come with more accessories and swap out parts including vintage style heads.

I noticed a lords of power mer-man is listed...if they start slowly trickling out those figures into the line that's probably gonna bother people who paid top dollar for that set.

Yeah I figured the deluxe Hordak would have more accessories, but the real question is if the figure himself has a different sculpt or paint job. Hopefully pics come out soon.

I hope the deluxe Hordak is in his Filmation colors, but I’d bet it’s Hurricane Hordak or Buzzsaw Hordak.

    Zodac's clean shaven chest...just isn't right.

Part of me wants to collect these but part of me says Money and Frustration, and already too many releases to catch up on.

Lords of Power Mer-Man is probably a repaint in a different color to recoup some of the tooling costs of that set.

Every Walmart I’ve been to over the past month’s got plenty of these hanging on the pegs, if they’re not selling these out while they are exclusives over Christmas, they’re just going to collect dust when they’re general release.

It's mostly the frustration with me, but this kind of takes it away. I didn't buy anything off eBay because I knew this was coming. I'm gonna get the line for sure. I picked up Battlecat somehow at Wal-Mart and it was awesome. I think I just hot lucky to get him.

If you pick up Grayskull from a retail location be sure that the box is factory sealed since I'm sure there'll be scumballs who buy it, take the figure and return it. It would be nice if Mattel glued the box, but that's not collector friendly for folks who want to save the box.

It can still be found but the preorder is sold out.

Saw an endcap at my local target getting put up for it today. Panthor looks good. Store had tons of ‘em. I’m thrilled, personally. Means the line is successful enough to warrant more investment from Mattel.

Also saw a huge restock of neca tmnt. Target doesn’t want the usual empty shelves of January. Saw the Stiltman Spider-Man wave, transformers, and more. Just in time to drain people’s stimulus funds.

Mattel just keeps this in stock for Walmart. I saw pallets of Mattel product that were half-MOTU, and the assortment on the pegs was constantly changing, so they were selling pretty well, it seems.

My local Walmarts have 10+ battlecats. Target has 3, and 12 Panthors. Looks like anyone who wants the characters will be able to find them at retail, unlike other nostalgic lines.

Funny timing on this announcement. I've seen He-Man and Skeletor at my local Walmart for a while now, and yesterday I finally broke down and bought Skeletor.

Also, that list of characters is HUGE. Are they all being released at once, or are they coming in waves?

Such a relief to see these pre-orders. I might just collect the whole line because of the ease of ordering.

Sadly, we're still saddled with the MOTU WWE Universe figs at Walmart, right?
What's the licensing on that one? Anybody know if it will open up to all retailers at some point?
I'd realllllly love to see that line continue and be just as huge as Origins. It's a great mash up.

Different waves. Looks like 1st 2 assortments hit later this month and early next month. the rest hit in the Spring.

I noticed BBTS has a sold out pre-order for the Lord of Powercon Merman. $15. Hmmmm.

Was the PowerCon exclusive 5 pack worth as much as it was because of the box?

I love the figs but I would have waited for the retail releases if I thought there was a chance at retail. But at the extremely high retail price they had it I was under the impression it would never happen. How could they ask $50 a figure, then a month later start offering the same figs for $15, and not make people feel deceived?

I guess you are paying for the packaging and its a way to get the figures to people who missed out. I am glad they are releasing them. We need the SDCC set that started this line to get a single card release. It helps with second hand prices also. Look at what BBTS is selling the Power-Con set for, like 400 bucks. Sometimes BBTS act like scalpers themselves. It's just total bonkers what has been happening with this community from MOTU Origins to NECA TMNT to GI Joe. People can only put up with so much, this hobby should be super fun, not super stressful. I hate exclusives now, they don't need them anymore for conventions or anything else I guess.

The Lords of Power set was $75 worth of figures + fancy packaging produced with a limited run for $200 originally...that's actually not too bad if you were able to get in at that price.

It'll be interesting to see if they change the color of the LoP figures or do something that differentiates them more than just packaging. People that keep the LoP set in the package will always have something special, but I hope Mattel has also considered the folks who open their toys.

Exclusives have driven me away from many lines. It's fine when it's something like the Christmas Star Wars Black Series figures or Ghostbusters Optimus Prime. It's frustrating when it is something interesting and appealing like the He-Man Mini-Comic set or the LoP set. And it's infuriating, and even insulting, when it is something essential to a line like the Tundercats Thunder-Kittens set.

I read about what convention goers have to go through to (try to) get these exclusives and have to wonder if this hobby is even about enjoyment anymore or if it has just become a matter of putting a checkmark beside an item.

I’m a bit surprised by the sheer variety of characters they have committed to produce already. Hopefully there is enough sales to warrant offering one or two characters that didn’t get a figure in the original line.

I'm with you and everyone else. I'd love for every exclusive to be a pre-cursor to widely distributed retail releases.

Mattel is to blame for overpricing it to the degree people would equate that price with an exclusivity unreasonable for mass retail. People paying upwards of $600 for them aftermarket because they think they will never have a chance again, or else, buy it later for maybe $1000.

When NECA released the SDCC 2017 Cartoon TMNT "exclusive" set. It was $200 with 8 figures. Same as retail. I see no problem at all. The box is unique, it's a bonus. I paid aftermarket on that set but it's okay, they were talking about a wide retail release, I wanted them quick and all at once, name of the game.
When I can't find NECA TMNT 2 PACK or Origins figs at the store and resort to buying on the aftermarket because of the same fear of "losing out" down the line, I'm okay with that. Name of the game.

Mattel would never have been able to command that outrageous price for the exclusive if people knew otherwise. I feel bad for the people who paid $600. That's not their fault. Mattel is being an asshole messing with peoples heads.

So next exclusive comes around...Do I buy or wait for retail? Or is that when they go back to making it actually exclusive and I'm priced out?
