Jakks Pacific's World of Nintendo will continue to expand into toy aisles and playrooms around the world.
Jakks Pacific has extended it's licensing deal with Nintendo of America to maintain global toy rights to design, produce, and market Nintendo and Super Mario-inspired toy lines.
The news comes after the success of Jakk’s Super Mario It’s-A Me Mario! and Boo Mansion Playset this year.
"We are excited to continue our partnership with Nintendo which started in 2013 and has allowed us to ship tens of millions of figures to fans of the games worldwide," says Craig Drobis, senior vice president of marketing, Jakks Pacific. "We have enjoyed celebrating 35 years of Super Mario this year alongside Nintendo. Jakks will continue to bring to life these iconic characters in a wide variety of new and unique ways for both kids and fans alike."
I'm curious as to see if any new characters get their own toys from Jakks Pacific. I've been hoping for 4.5 inch figures of Daisy and Rosalina (with a Luma figure packed in with her), hopefully the rest of the Koopalings will get their own figures, and maybe they'll finally make more non-Mario figures (I'm disappointed that they only made 6 Donkey Kong-based figures as of 2020).
Does this mean we will start getting non-Mario stuff again like Metroid and Zelda?
I want a 4" scaled OOT Gannondorf!
If they are still making playsets, why not make the stages from Smash Bros?
Thanks for sharing the news!
Speaking of which, I made a Dream Land diorama recently based on Smash 64... but because I'm a new member I can't post the link.

I know Jakks Pacific doesn't have the toy rights to Pokemon, but I know they have had the rights to make Mario, Zelda and Donkey Kong toys.
Nowadays it's like either they've forgotten all about the non-Mario licenses they've worked with, or Nintendo has given the toy rights for Zelda and Donkey Kong to different toy makers.
I always liked this Mario Game Stuff...
