Final Packaging for the Stalker Predator Ultimate Figure by NECA

NECA Stalker Predator Packaging 005

NECA has released final in-packaging photos for their upcoming Predator 2 – Ultimate Stalker Predator 7″ Scale Figure. The figure has an upgraded body from the original release, swap out masked and unmasked portraits, interchangeable hands, a dart gauntlet, combi sticks, smart discs, a shoulder cannon, and removable chest armor. The figure is scheduled to ship out at the end of the month, and should be on shelves near the start of the New Year. See the new photos after the jump.

Predator 2 expanded the universe that the original film touched upon, introducing us to new yautja such as the City Hunter and more importantly, the Lost Tribe that appeared at the end of the film. 30 years after its release, NECA is celebrating Predator 2’s anniversary with the return of each Lost Tribe Predator in Ultimate form.

The Stalker Predator is given an upgrade with an all new body loaded with articulation, an assortment of interchangeable hands, and two heads, one of which is a never before seen unmasked head. Other accessories include a snap-on dart gauntlet, open and closed combi sticks and discs, a new articulated canon, and removable chest armor.

Already up on BBTS. These are looking great. Loving the unmasked heads and all the added accessories. Pre-order locked in.

Nice, especially since I was getting worried that the pandemic might have delayed or caused issues for this line of upgraded Lost Tribe re-releases. Glad to see isn't the case! But what I'm REALLY waiting for is a release date for the Battle Armor Lost Predator.

Preordered. The price is getting to be a bit much. Everyone complaining about super7, well these neca figures are getting close in price.

NECA has been a pretty affordable option to high-end foreign retailers for quite some time, and they are providing more details and accessories. I want to spare my wallet as much as possible, but when you compare what NECA gives you, they're fair IMO.

Stalker is easily my favorite of the Lost Tribe, but I feel they missed the mark on his accessories. I've always loved his minimalist, "melee weapon only" mentality, so giving him a plasma caster and dart bazooka (or whatever that thing is on his arm) feels off. I would have rather had seen him with some more stabbing instruments, maybe even a bow and arrow, to round out his hunting game.

While Im digging most of the upgrades to these, Neca still has a way to go with this line and I hope they are making some QC improvements to these in the process. The smart discs never did store all that great on these figures, and warped and broken spears and wrist blades really need to be addressed. A different type of plastic for those is all they need for those really, because the "if they dive...they're done" terror that Neca Predator collectors experience is tired and needs to stop.

I'm glad these are coming out as fast as they are as well. It gives me hope we might see the rest of the tribe completed within the next year if they continue at this rate.

Comparatively speaking, dude, NECA's pricing isn't even close to the rip-off that Super7 has going on. I'd say their pricing is totally fair for what you get.

    Got my order in.

And about pricing, this is totally acceptable for me. Very detailed and posable figures, at the about 1/12 scale at less than $40?
Meanwhile the average comparable figures from the US lack that same posability and detail, while our over seas counterparts are far more expensive and delicate in some cases.

Everyone has different wallets, but these figures IMO are worth far more than what we initially get charged for.

Seriously! That Stalker Pred would be $100+ coming from Mezco or Super7!

Retail. Neca is a retail company. Mezco and super7 aren’t at target and Walmart.

And unless ya hot no option never buy neca from target they overinflate the figure prices. A basic space marine drake is 30 bucks. I order my shit from dorkside or bbts.

Bbts is saying SRP is $41. Those won’t sell at target and Walmart much over $30.

I am also curious on the jump in price for these two new figures. I don't see how they're much different than other new NECA Predator figures, yet they are priced $6 more (at least on BBTS). I'm not saying they're not worth it, but if Alpha Pred is $6 less, why do these cost more? Or is it just an across-the-board price hike and that's what we'll be seeing moving forward?

  14. Comedian's Avatar Comedian says

    06-24-2020, 10:33 AM

I’m assuming it’s an across the board price hike, but I’ll wait for neca to make it official.

An Ultimate Predator at Target costs between $29.99 and $34.99 (plus tax). BBTS is selling Stalker and Guardian for $35.99 each, plus $4 flat-rate shipping, plus tax. So, BBTS has the most expensive price overall.

I found the chest harness a little weird too, the original didn't have that. I pre-ordered it because Stalker is the only figure I need to complete the Lost Tribe but I also want it to be more subtle and less busy looking.

I guess I am at a point in my life where that $6 doesn't change much at all for me, when determining the value and desirability of these figures.

Honestly. I think if anyone else was manufacturing these they would be priced well above even that. $60-$100 range.

I missed out on the initial LA Hunting Party/Lost Tribe figures (sans one), but now I am glad I did. I didn't like the lack of real articulation in early NECA Predator figures. These are a far better value to me.

Times that by the location that are or will be carrying neca items. Then add comic and specialty stores. Then add on the neca eBay and amazon stores, then all the e-tailers . That is a massive foot print and able to spread the cost out. Vs. mezco which is only available online and super7 which is made to order direct to the customer.

I should not have needed to explain this.

And by the way, I worked at a family business in my youth and we ordered mcfarlane toys and neca. Neca was easy to get an account and buy wholesale. Once retail hit $20, we couldn’t sell them anymore. Granted this was the terminator, twilight and even ghostbuster days. Every predator from series 3-6 we sold came back with broken joints. Air bubbles in the pegs. We could never do much with mezco because their wholesale price was almost retail.

All of my lost tribe went to the recycling bin a while back. If neca loses retail, then these will be that price.

I had the older Scout, and it just doesn't hold up for me. Actual model work was fine, but it just stands there in an awkward pose. They were pretty much mini statues like how old McFarlane toys were.

BBTS says almost every NECA figure's msrp is higher than what they're charging. For example they say ultimate Big Chap's msrp is around $36 but when I got mine at Target it was only $30, also the '62 Godzilla has a displayed msrp of $28 but at Target he was $23. It's possible that BBTS is simply creating the illusion that they're offering a deal.

I can't speak to Walmart's prices because none of my local stores have started carrying any NECA items, their "collector" areas are just a bunch of crappy Funko Pops.

That's definitely what they're doing. Dorkside has these 2 new ones for $33.99. I started going to Dorkside recently for all these mass releases; cheaper than BBTS, no sales tax, and free shipping over $99. I think they allow cancellations but not as easy as BBTS so that's something to pay for I guess.

DS had the others listed at $29.99, so they went up for sure. If you go by FYE stores, the new stuff will probably go for around $45 in store.

    Yeah.....
Do a figure with a guy in a NECA "T"....holding on to his wallet!!!=^)

In all seriousness....Like you said; NECA is offering a decent value for the money.
    To have a..."PRICE CONSCIOUSNESS"....is a good thing.....

How "HIGH" will you PAY???...until you say; NO MORE!!!=^)

    That's a better question, IMO

These 2 seem to be the most safe in terms of additions/alterations to their designs, with Scout so far has been the most drastic with the face being an entirely new* take. It's always been assumed he resembled either City or Jungle Hunter up until this point (which, if you don't care for toys he still does).

Can't wait to see what else they do with the remaining 5. Specifically Elder and Warrior.
