New Photos of the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Death Metal Batcycle

Posted on November 20, 2020 at 8:53 am by Joe Moore under DC Toy News

DC Multiverse Death Metal Batcycle 001

Last night, McFarlane Toys had announced that the DC Multiverse Death Metal Batcycle had gone up for pre-order on Amazon. Those pre-orders quickly sold out, unfortunately. However, it appears as if Target.com is still taking pre-orders. The listings give us some new official photos of the upcoming vehicle. The vehicle is priced at $24.99, and ships out in January. Check out the images after the jump.

Following the universe-shattering events of Dark Nights: Metal, the Earth is enveloped by the Dark Multiverse and has transformed into a hellish landscape twisted beyond recognition. Commanding an army of the undead, Batman rides a Batcycle made from the bones of a Joker dragon in his war against The Batman Who Laughs and his omnipotent goddess, Perpetua.

  • Death Metal Batcycle is based on the bike Batman rides in Dark Knights: Death Metal #1 (Comic 2020)
  • Designed with moving wheels and rotating handlebars. Figure not included.
  • Cycle is scaled to fit all Mcfarlane Toys DC Multiverse 7″ Action Figures
  • Includes collectable art card with Batman: Dark Knights: Death Metal #1 (Comic 2020) artwork on the front, and character biography on the back
  • Measures 10.50″ Long x 4″ Wide x 4.75″ High
  • Showcased in DC themed window box packaging

That's pretty badass; I don't collect McFarlane, so would probably be to big for me, but still an awesome design.

Saw this on Instagram last night and read a complaint about it. Not sure why someone would complain about this. It's pretty amazing and bold. You could use this with other things also. It would be a cool bike for Hordak.

Yeah I'm 100% down with this. And Death Metal figs. That should get us some non Batman figs - but they will be in the unique looks and style of the book. No legacy / evergreen versions of the DCU from it.

That being said, I do want the Trinity in Death Metal format.

Awesome! McFarlane is just killing it right now.

I don't care too much for superhero figures but this metal series is an absolute must. Everything about it is awesome. That bike is amazing.

Real nice, but those handlebars look really chunky. Hope it gets fixed. Think any number of figures McFarlane Toys produces works with this bike. Seeing this I think that Batgod/Barbatos would look real good on this.

I like this way better than a regular Batmobile we will get one I'm sure, but this is awesome, I'm gonna get two. One for Batman and one for Hordak or another character. Perhaps Shredder.

Yup. Pretty cool. I must admit, I know nothing about the metals comics series. Anyone in the know out there that can tell me where to start or if there is an omnibus out there?

Well, do you mean the first regular series Metal or the current sequel being published Death Metal? Death Metal is current so just issues on that for now but Dark Nights Metal has an omnibus and a number of trades. That said, the bike looks pretty spot on. I’d love to see the Monster Truck Batman myself out of sheer absurdity, but figure wise for the DM lineup Wonder Woman obviously, Robin King, that burned out Swamp Thing would be neat and or Darkest Knight to name a few hopefuls.

This is SO McFarlane. If there's not a set of comics already established I would have thought McFarlane designed it in house. Reminds me a lot of the old Spawn Violator Chopper and Monster Rig.

So which figure is supposed to ride this bike? Grim Knight? The Grim Knight McFarlane's making doesn't look like the Batman on the cover with the scythe.

I think Batman proper is riding it in current series.

General premise is that somehow the dark multiverse versions of Batman etc - won. Earth is in ruins and good guys on the run. Batman is Mad Maxed out, and from the shots above, rest of heroes are a little rough right now.

But yeah, I haven't dug into Death Metal yet, so that may not be 100% accurate. Will wait for trade, half done right now.

Dark Nights Metal and The Batman Who Laughs trades - those are where everything McFarlane has shown so far is from, except the bike. And both are well worth a read, Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo - the team that did New52 Batman which was the shining light in the new 52 era.

Game of Thrones is pretty much cancelled according to McFarlane due to poor sales, and I'm sure Harry Potter is now too. More one-and-done wave toy lines, just like Star Trek.

They jumped on GOT way too late. That being said, had that last season not crashed so hard there may be room for merchandise but i generally feel that the final season completely nuked the franchise.
