In a new video posted on Facebook, Todd McFarlane talked about what is likely going to be their second Spawn Kickstarter. He opens the video by saying that he thinks and hopes it’s going to be Medieval Spawn. By the end of the video, it sounded more certain that this was coming sooner rather than later. He uses a Medieval Spawn statue as an example of the detailing and look he’d want to go for. Here’s a breakdown of what he’d want:
- Fully articulated 7″ scale figure
- Assorted weapons such as axes, swords, and shields
- He’d like some of the weapons to be diecast metal
- Five different masked heads, some with articulated face shields to show the face underneath
- Unmasked portrait

Todd McFarlane Teases Medieval Spawn Kickstarter
If Todd gives him a neutral torso a cloth cape and as much articulation as his MK11 Spawn then i have no doubt the campaign will surpass his first one. Would love one with die cast armour.
I still have trouble wrapping my head around these major toy companies begging people to give them loads of money to make toys they should make themselves. I mean i get it....i just think its pretty janky.
Good Smile Company is smaller than most people realize, but they seems to manage quite well with how they handle preorders and even are even willing run addition batches of figures based on market demand or resurging media popularity. I think 1000Toys also do something similar.
Is this all McFcon day 1?
Not impressed at all, I was expecting A LOT OF pre-orders. Maybe tomorrow...
Fans: I can't find anything in stores. These companies are terrible.
Also Fans: I keep seeing their stuff in stores. These companies are terrible.
Always excited to see more Spawn figures; I won't be participating in this one due to the changes throughout the last one. If it does well I will roll the die on a secondary market figure; he adds all the articulation in the world to 3rd party figures but goes back to his roots with his.

And to be fair i have never been a real big fan of mcfartlame.
I wish everything was made to order. It's a nightmare trying to get stuff. It's everything now. Transformers, MOTU Origins Masters of WWE and GI Joe. We have been getting a lot of good stuff with corporate crowd funding. I would rather a company spend the money putting something together and trying, than doing nothing. If people want it then good, if not then they dont. Look at HasLab Cookie Monster.
I have to say it directly.
MCFarlane is BIG BIG...BIGGEST Assh**e when it
comes to his Spawn Figures.
As much as I love his Mortal Kombat Figures,
I also wanted some of his Spawn Figures.
But these are ONLY availabe through his Kickstarter.
Go and F*uck yourself MCFarlane.
I want Spawn, Medieval Spawn, Samurai Spawn
all made with the current Technology.
But No, "For Kickstarter People only"
and with High Expensive Shipping Cost also.
Assho*le. Just make them available for everyone,
just like the other Stuff from DC and MK.
Making Spawn available to "rich" People only.
That is beyond being an Assh*ole.

> I am NOT willing to do that.
I want to buy these free and easy
from European Vendors
Second, People said at Kickstarter

I do not need a Credit Card.
High Expensive Shipping Cost, No
Credit Card, No
Purchase free, cheap and easy from Vendors, Yes
He makes things far more complicated than he needs to.
I do not care if he charges 30$ or 50$ for a Spawn Figure,I have Money. But I will not buy them overpriced
and complicated through his Kickstarter shit.
And last: Kickstarter had a Time Limit.
Another "Fuc* you" Case. Kickstarter Time Limit over
> No purchases allowed anymore.
I know because I watched his Kickstarter Spawn.
He should just make them available for everyone.

110%
Maybe if he'd listen to fans and GET RID OF the pre-posed torso and sculpt then people would be happy to do another one. He should just stick to making statues if he wants a pre-posed statue look.
We can have a big discussion of toy companies business models and practices and the issues with distribution and mass produce/made to order and still not come to any consensus. There are pros and cons to everything.
Most of us expected with the success of first Kickstarter Spawn he would come with Medieval Spawn. I've put my thoughts on what would be good in other threads. But in summary, Todd probably should have went with Medieval first, character in full armor can forgive some articulation limitations. Armor sculpting details plays to a strength of McFarlaneToys. Get some LEDs for glowing eyes effects for one of the heads and if he wants to wow us, make a deluxe version with an undead articulated war horse that can provide some level of weapons storage for weapons (sword, shield, axe, morningstar, lance). Just an idea with a horse and different saddles, armor/barding style.
But let's see a render or prototype first. Would be "funny" its an armored figure in a non-neutral pose.
And to be fair i have never been a real big fan of mcfartlame.
Ba dum bump.

Medieval Spawn Kickstarter Teased and Coming Soon
Can Todd just stop already. He keeps wanting to make statue figures. Make neutral sculpts and let people do the posing.
Id rather he just release a regular retail medieval spawn fig instead of trying to get people to pay him tomake it. We all know itd sell.
Toy companies are always being paid to make a product. Usually it's the store and then the end customer needs to make do with the inventory they ordered.
The problem with the kickstarter model is of course you miss out on that period of time. Vs having until inventory runs out. Additionally you may trust say BBTS to process your order then Mcfarlane.
I don't think Mcfarlane has made products where the kickstarter model would be better. They aren't insanely large or so out there. These items would certainly sell well online or in a physical store.
Then statues are a fair point. If Mcfarlane wants to make statues, then make statues. Make the best statue that can with arms/legs you can swap out. Don't bother messing around with the articulation.
Otherwise make the best posable figure possible, especially with a kickstarter campaign which should be encouraging them to make a product not feasible at a normal retail price.
