Over the weekend, Power-Con announced an online event in place of the cancelled Power-Con 2020. They will be offering a mix of reveals, teasers, panels, and info about the Masters of the Universe and Princess of Power toy lines. There will be a Grayskull Treasure Room, where fans can browse for the new announcements and teasers. then there will be a Panel Room, where fans can check out live videos with the guests for Power-Con 2020. The event will take place this weekend, on both August 8th and 9th. Check out the full details below.
As we teased before, a Power-Con online event is coming next weekend, August 8th & 9th! This free online event will have two features.
The first is a Grayskull Treasure Room. This is an online room that you can explore to find images of and videos about upcoming Masters of the Universe product, along with some teasers and new reveals.
The second is our online panel room. Using Zoom, there will be several panels each day. Each will give you an intimate look at what’s coming for He-Man and the Masters! In addition, each panel will feature a Q&A session at the end for fans. Please note that due to time limitations, panelists may not be able to answer all questions.
In the interest of transparency, this experience is new for all of us. There may be some hiccups as we try this for the first time. And we’ll learn from this one what works, and what else you’d like to see added. If it goes well, this could be something we add to future Power-Con events for a nominal fee. But we’re giving you this first one for free!
We will have more information this coming week, along with any free registration requirements needed in order to participate. This event will only last the weekend and will be the only opportunity to see some content, as not all of it will be reposted online. In addition, fans who join us for the panels will be entered into a prize raffle. Each panel will have its own raffle so you have multiple chances to win. You don’t want to miss out!
So what about the Power-Con exclusives? We have a couple updates for those.
The most common question that we currently receive is “What will the packaging look like?” Some time this coming week, Mattel will do online reveals for the Power-Con exclusive packaging. So be sure to follow them on their various social media accounts so you don’t miss out:
Also, we have an update on shipping for the exclusives. As we forewarned, there might be a delay due to all that’s going on in the world. That has turned out to be the case. We now expect to receive the Power-Con exclusives this November. Once received, all exclusives will be shipped from November through December. Once shipped, arrival time will depend on the speed of USPS or the postal courier in your country. We apologize for the delay and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
We will post more updates as we have them. And we look forward to seeing you online next weekend, August 8th & 9th!
Online Event Announced for Power-Con 2020
Does anybody care about this MOTU Origins stuff. It doesn't really seem like it, I expected there to be tons of comments. I don't care about it either and I am in the camp that wants Classics back, but anyways, I just wanted to say that the treasure hunt idea is kinda lame because someone will find everything and just post it online, so I'll just wait for that and hope we get more Masters of the WWE stuff, which is fun and interesting. The WWE Masters reveals are what I wanna see.
I also want Classics back!
Origins is ok but I don't have the room for yet another version of MOTU. I prefer the MOTU Classics over Origins. I might buy a few Origins as a future gift my son (he's only 2 month) but $15 is a bit steep per figure imo.
I’m looking really forward to the convention this weekend.
On origins. I’m seeing a lot of collectors at my Walmart every morning searching for these, so demand is there. I just don’t know the size of the demand. This may be a case of motu collectors so starved and nostalgia driven by Covid are so high, that this early release may wipe stores clean. Look to the wwe/motu figures. They sell out immediately. Of course each store only gets about a case or 2.
I remember the toysrus motuc/dcuc 2 packs, they were unattainable at first. Then demand was meet and they sat and collected dust.
Us MOTU fans are a dedicated, tenacious And predictable bunch. But there are only so many of us. Hopefully this origins line and both Netflix series will expand the collecting base and allow the return of the greatest action figure line to ever exist, Masters of the Universe classics!
